make sure your MAF is plugged in all the way and unhook your battery for a few minutes, then you should be aight.

it comes on because there is a change in airflow - the ecu will figure out that it doesn't matter and the light will shut off within 24 hours. Or you can unhook the negative battery terminal to reset it manually.

You might want to try and get a code reader. See what code the system is throwing. The MAF might have went bad. I could be totally off base here, but it happened to me a few months ago, but it was a different situation.

I had my fujita CAI installed and about 2 months later, the check engine light came on while I was installing the LED for my KillerGlass tube. I was lucky enough that my friend had a friend with a code reader. The code reader told us that the MAF went bad. So, I took it to the dealership in my friends town. They looked it over and the same code came up on their reader, but they wouldn't touch the car, because of after market mods.

So, I took a chance and bought a new MAF. We installed it and everything worked fine. The check engine light went out.

But like I said, I could be way off base here.

yeah - those MAF sensors are super sensitive - we use the hotwire sensors that use a suspended wire to transmit airflow signals. They break quick when they're not properly secured.

Well if your MAF was mounted incorrectly, the car would either drive like shit or not run at all (I've experienced both)...if the MAF was broken, the car wouldn't run - you need it for the ECU to let the car run. It's kinda like knife-throwing with a blindfold - you'd probably refuse to do it until you could see what was going on first. same idea.

When I installed mine in my 06, it came on - I called the dealer and he said "just wait 24 hours and the ECU will readjust." so my best advice is to leave it alone for 24 hours and it should go away on it's own. Resetting the ECU doesn't necessarily let it learn what's going on. With the light, all you have to know is that as long as it's NOT flashing and red, you're fine. My wastegate hose broke and it caused my wastegate to open at around 9psi instead of 7...and I have no tune and I'm running stock injectors - the car had sooooo much power...for like 10 seconds until my engine started fucking up, and the check engine light turned red and started flashing. It didn't like that too much. lol So I know that the yellow light just means "something is different"...red and flashing means stop driving now. lol

Give it a day without disconnecting your battery and see what happens. It worked for me.
