how to change tc key ring led?

i was wondering if it was possible to change the light in the ring around the ignition and if so how do i get to it and what size bulb is it

I'm not sure if you could or not really. I'd assume it'd be a small led, nothing very bright. I've never seen anyone mention they have changed it. You can try taking your shroud off your steering wheel column and looking around.

i had mine apart and it seems like it was one or two of the plcc2 l.e.d.s like the guages. If so, easy mod. I did all mine to white and its already white so i didnt spend alot of time looking at it. Let me see what I can find out and I will post back up in a little while

I believe it is a PLCC2...but I would be very careful around that ring...if it is broken or damaged your car will not start due to that is the reciever for the Transponder module in the ignition....

im absolutely gunna watch this thread. been wanting to do it just havent had time to take apart the steering column.

although it is indeed easy to do....just a few screws and the whole plastic part pops off and then I think there is only two clips on the side of the ring that hold it on to the ignition ....I had to take the one of tC when I installed the remote start for my GF...
