That's almost exactly what I've been talking about for 2 plus years. Glad to see it's really possible to do that. Now I have added motivation to actually do it myself in the future.
Where is some video of this thing in action?

What is the trick to getting the video to load and play. When I click on the video pic it goes to another page with a black arrow in the middle of the pic. It will only play like 1/2 second of the video I think. please help?

Jeff if you'll get me a hemi out of a 69-71 cuda I'll put it in my box
I just don't have the 25k+ for the engine

Nah, they are recasting those blocks now so it wouldn't cost that much. Besides, the hemi is way too heavy for the front of the xB. You'd never get any weight transfer. That is why a nice SBC with aluminum heads would be ideal.

nah, cause what I'm planning to do, is build a frame and set it into the body of the box, you save alot of strengthening doing that, then you drop that 426 supercharged hemi in it, with a manual 6, and your rear end, basicly you would be making it like a normal suv, only lower

You don't think $3 grand is expensive for a block?!?!?!!? And that's the cheapest one I could find.

Not really considering how much the original one was before they started repopping them. Seems like everything is being remade now. You can even get a new flathead ford if so desired.

the block is most likely the last thing to worry about in expensives, SBC are a dime a dozen. the pics that i have seen, if you look at the underbody pic, you can see where a piece (crossmember) was split to go around the driveshaft. Also a hemi could be done, if you counter weighted the rear with a heavy rear axle or pumpkin you should be ok, but only for going straight. the most expensive would be mounting the engine in there, a SB 350 is small but could be oxward in an xb.
But hey yall are in luck, this guy lives and MD, i think one of our guys have been talking to him and hes on our site, HOPEFULLY JOINS!!!
