Iy puts a smile on my face but i really don't think the STI was trying.....My boy has one and i haven't tried to run with him (No Turbo for me) but i just don't see the tC staying with an STI......I would love it if it does though......

thats pretty iffy. an 11psi zpi is what? 280 at best? Cobb claims their Stage 2 gets 350 according to their dyno's at a peak 17psi ... 20psi at that rate should make that "race" a no contest...

11 PSI on a GT35R is not the same as 11 PSI on a 16G or 11 PSI on a 20G. So, the 11 PSI is off in this case. And for the comment about the guy in the STI not trying, yeah he was trying. Not to mention that the silver ZPI tC in this vid does low 12's at 115+ mph. Just thought I would shed some light for you guys.

yeah, he wasnt trying, i've seen and been in many sti's/evo's, and even a turbo tC and the cars are in different classes, not knocking on tC's, but a turbo and exhaust won't make you faster than a sti

Dude, I can beat a stock STI/EVO, and the tC in the vid is far superior than our tC is. Anyhow, the Sti WAS trying. He said so on a thread over on ScionLife. This vid is old for one, and the tC in this vid runs low low 12's. So, sorry to burst your bubble, but the Sti dude said he was trying, and he stated the tC was fast as hell.

the thing with the sti/evo is that they are all wheel drive. any front / rear car with around the same horsepower should be able to take them from a roll. DO it from start and sti/evo's will own you all day

Not if you are still faster than them in the 1/4 mile. Guy I know has a White Civic Si (body style right before the 06), that is pushing 10 PSI on a t3/t4 and he was called out by some guy in a Evo RS. He walked him from a roll, and from a dig(on the street). Seen both cars at the 1/8th mile track as well. Both on Street tires, and the Si spins and wheel hops in 2nd while the Evo gets a clean launch out the hole due to AWD system. However, once in 3rd the Si starts pulling, and catches him at the 1/8th line. The Evo won still, but BARELY! It was like by a headlight. If the track was 1/4mile, he would eat that Evo for lunch even after he spun all 1st and wheel hopped 2nd.

I'm going to race the Si as soon as Kenny finishes up with the car (Stage 3 clutch and some maintenance tweaks). Other people were saying I was already faster than him when we were on 8 PSI. Going to bump it to 10 now.

i never said 1/4 mile i'll just say they'll own you off the line all day.

The race dosen't end at "Off the line".

So, what's the point in stating the obvious?

Who dosen't know that? I would imagine anyone involved in motorsports especially drag racing would know that AWD would launch out of the hole a lot faster than FWD.

in terms of launching capabilites
AWD > RWD > FWD

in terms of drivetrain loss in putting the power from the crank to the wheels
FWD > RWD > AWD

Yeah... the main thing with FWD cars is keeping the wheels down and gripping. When you launch the weight shifts back and lifts the front wheels off the ground...

A FWD with a wheelie bar that's holding you down to the ground can actually work better.... but of course, that's only for the track!

is this topic buggy to any of you? this is the only thread on the board that it takes me like 5 min to access, then i can't post and when i finally do its like 4 posts, and sometimes i get a SQL server error and have to try to open it again

Nice video. I'm sure many of you are aware of this, and is probably one of the leading causes of the STI loosing to the tC is that a turbo system works off of back pressure from the exhaust. Those fatty 3" down pipes and exhaust is actually sucking power from the turbo.

Wouldn't it be;
in terms of drivetrain loss in putting the power from the crank to the wheels
FWD < RWD < AWD?
FWD less than RWD less than AWD

I was speaking in terms of Better Than and Worse Than, instead of Greater than and Less than.

I can assure everyone one thing...We do not need to post videos of cars not trying. The tC in the video is my personal car. The car dynoed earlier that day at 365whp and close to 400ft lbs..This is on a 100% stock engine. I have included a few more videos below so that you can see this was not a one time thing... The guy filming in the SRT-4 is actually the owner of the STi beating them is not the hard part getting them to give you the vidoe is..

The second video is my silver car racing our ferrari powered maserati. This car is V8 powered 400hp.
