Have you tuned your non factory amp? And I think there's also a subwoofer volume adjustment in the radio (not totally sure)

How did you hook it up (wires etc)

Is the sub not getting enough power or is it the amp that is not? If it is the sub you can bridge the connects to allow the full amp power to the sub, most factory installs only have it hooked up to allow for half.

the stock sub is still hooked up. i hooked the audio cables to the back of the hu and jumped off the antenna power for a remote turn on. when i hook up my rockford fosgate p1 it kinda rattles. i have subwoofer contorl on the hu turned on and i can play with it but the bass is limited and very poor. powerwire from the amp is rate for 1600w and it is properly grounded. when the sub is used on my friend rf amp it plays normal so its something with the set up of the stock sub and the hu
