HID help

i have a '06 xA and i am wanting to get some HIDs from oznium. i use both high and low beams and would love to have some really bright lights.

i am wanting to find out the size of the bulb (ex: 9006)
and i would like to see what "k" i should use.

The bigger the number (ex. 6000k/8000k), the more purplish-blue the lights are. So you want to go with a lower number...

i just got 12k HIDs for my car and the light is very white when you are behind the wheel but very purple when you are looking from in front of the car.

IMO anything over 6k/8k is horrible. and the bulb size would be the same as the size halogen bulb thats in the xA normaly

mine were free, so 12k is ok with me. and they are very good.

yea but too high and light output goes lower then regular halogen bulbs and with the colors lowers good visibility even more. car manufacturers dont go passed 8k for a good reason.

dunno much about HIDs, but with mine being in projector housings, would that make a difference. i have really good distance with my lights.

HIDs are supposed to only be used with projector housings so having them in there would make a difference then sticking them in a regular halogen reflector housing.

they should be 9003's, 10k's are blue, 8k's are white, 12k's are purple, 4 or 6 is yellow or amber

i HAVE THE 8000K HID's from Oznium and mine look ice blue, the 6000k are a very bright white, The higher you go the less light output you will get. There are more along the lines of purple and blue the higher you go. What kind of light (color) are you looking for? At Oznium you can find out what sixe your headlights are, xA are high & low beam size are H4/9003

4k is yellow
the really nice white that come from the factory on some cars is like between 5k-6k
8k starts getting blue and gets more blue to purple the higher you get.

like i said...my 12k's are purple when you look at them head on from outside the car, but when you are driving they are white and have great visibility.
