my air vents are squeaking...

okay..so has anyone had this problem?

if im driving like on the highway; or even on a regular road theres like a squeaky sound coming from the middle air conditioner/air vent thingy lol..

its annoying and..i have to smack the vents for it to shut up; so i know its coming from there

ive been to two different toyotas because they think im crazy; and because obviously when they test drive the car it doesnt do it.

he checked the vents for any leaves or anything that could be trapped..and NOTHING!

has anyone had a similar problem? maybe?...:bruce:

I can't say I have had this problem. I might recommend spraying some WD-40 on a q-tip and trying to lube the brackets or something but I can't say what else it might be. Is it inside the vent or is it the vent itself?

your vents are squeaky?? it's that poor little mouse caught in the heating hoses.. poor little guy.. you better let him out. :rofl:

but seriously, have you ever taken apart you dash>? for any reason?? it might be the hose that connects to the vent face.. there might be a small hole, or the hose is pinched, creating an escape for the air.

Have you pulled and re-seated the waterfall to see if it fixes the squeek?

ive taken off the waterfall thing when i got my gauge and hvac swapped...so should i take it off..and get behind there to see what it is?

did u put an aftermarket HU in? it might be the brackets for the radio too

well i had an aftermarket radio in and it was squeaking then...but i took that out..so its not that..im do INSPECTOR GADGET on the tc this weekend..take the middle apart :eat:

Yeah. When I put my HU in I had to use a new mounting bracket. It doesn't fit 100% right so I'll have to trim it so it's not bowed.

Shouldn't have anything to do with the head unit. Is it an actual squeek or is it a hissing like wind noise??
