Has anyone had their windshield replaced, and then had any issues with the gasket along the top of the windshield coming up or off?:dots:

The glass company that did mine tried to tell me that it's a bad design and I will always have issues with it.:bs:

Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated. :thanks:

I'd tell them they're full of shit and they need to come fix it or pay for someone that can.

Do they warranty their work? Find out what their policy is and tell them you're contacting the BBB.

Agreed, the only bad design is how they run their business...

Most likely a bad install. i used to do auto glass and sometimes the molings came on the glass from the factory and sometimes we had to put them on. sounds like the guy that put it on didnt do it right.

I had to replace my gasket a few years back (when my car was running), they had to take the glass out to replace it and the windshield broke, so i had to get a new one of those too. They did say because of the chips in the windshield it had the possibility to break. Basically I had issues with the gasket b4 the windshield. It should not be a lasting issue, in my case I just made sure to take better care of the whole car, especially the seals around every piece of glass.

I had to have my windshield replaced back in May and have had no issues with my seal yet. I think my new glass came with a new seal on it though. I would definitely be taking it back and telling them they have to fix it. Be just the right amount of asshole and they will know you are serious!

This

Most places use OEM glass and OEM doesn't leak. Tell them they need to fix the gasket or pay for you to take it somewhere where they know what they are doing.

Good call! I hadn't noticed the dates above... Tapatalk doesn't put a full date on threads.

Btw, i did get it fixed. If the winshield sits to low or to high in the opening when the put it in, it won't hold the gasket in place.
