A Plea To Those Who Swapped Their TC's Intake

So, my tC's at the dealership right now getting the supercharger installed.

About a year ago, I had an Umnitza intake installed (didn't know ANYthing about cars so I didn't install it myself). The Supercharger reuses the oem airbox lid for the MAF sensor and all that.

I don't have it. The stock intake that was returned to me after the install had a '00 Celica part number, and is (surprise ~_~) too small to fit over the box that comes with the Supercharger.

I was informed by the techs that the umnitza intake could be...made to fit, but due to their own reasons, they can't do it. While I find that completely understandable, it puts me in quite a pickle.

So...I need the lid to the tC oem airbox. A brand new lid comes with a MAF sensor, therefore it costs....a lot. I don't need the MAF...I just need the freakin' plastic lid.

I'm willing to pay, buy you a drink, dinner, whatever...to get this piece of plastic. If I figure out how to rig up the Umnitza intake, I'll do it and you can have your lid back, or I can just buy it from you straight. In fact, that's exactly what's going to happen.

I'm in Everett and willing to drive...prefrebly not out of state, rofl.

Let me check and see if I still have mine. I have it in a box in a storahe unit. I do not plan on returning my car to stock ever, and should I ever sell my tc (perish the thought) I am selling it custom. If it is still there I will let you know and we talk from there,

i have an identical thread on scionlife's pacnw section right now. i got a message from a guy in federal way willing to trade his oem airbox for my umnitza, but that's not exactly what I was going for, heh. Depending on if I get any other replies or not, I may end up doing that. Now if he would only answer the questions I sent him in the PM~~

No it wouldn't be fair, but it's better than shoving $350 into the local dealership and waiting until monday/tuesday for the part to arrive so they can finally take my car off the lifts and give it back to me. Sometimes "convenience" is worth it =/

I have to go up to my storage unit tomorrow to take some things out of there, my 3 month low rate offer ends soon and the price is gonna jump from $49. to $75. So when I go there and take some boxes out I will look to see if I have it for you. What part do you need exactly just the lid that goes over the air box (the cover) or what??

Yea, just the stupid lid lol. It fits over the filters and attaches to the second piece.

Glad to see this got worked out. I PM'd you back today but as was said earlier, I am busy right now and haven't had much time for anything. Didn't have my old one anymore anyways. I got rid of most of that stuff when i moved to a house. Didn't feeling carting it around mainly........ Only kept my seats and hood........

I know for a fact I have mine, my oem parts sitting in the garage were among the first thing I moved last weekend into the new place.

The techs doing the install misread the instructions. They hadn't done the install before so I wasn't angry or anything..shit happens. The box I had was the stock tC box, even though it registers as a Celica part, it fits onto the larger bottom half using the 2 filters as spacers.


The supercharger is installed and it...is....orgasmic.
