do you know how much i would need to extend it. and that kinda doesnt bother me i can just buy so wire and make them longer just kinda wondering how i should install them like do i need to keep the door closed and just work in the fender to make sure it has a good seal?

I just bought a pair from a guy that haqd it on his old scion and he said it work perfect and he didnt have to roll the fenders nor extend the wires. i just gotta find out whats the easy way to install them like my roommate told me that him and his friend but lambo doors on his celica and they just tape this sh** out of it to keep the doors in lace and then just switch out the hindges. but the guy i bought it from said that they just took off the doors and did it but im nerves that its not gonna seal right.

I'd say it's something for a body shop to do. It won't just be "bolt on".

i had mine installed by a body shop... watched them do it... really wish i would of done it.... most kits come with the extra wires to extend them.... if you can solder correctly and turn a bolt you can do it no problem.... the hardest part about it is getting all the shimming right.... but that just takes time..... i have had my hindges on and off my car probably 3 or 4 times due to the struts on the door going bad.....so if you do get them put on by a shop watch them do it.... it will save you big bux later on down the road when the struts go bad in the doors

I really wanna get lambo doors down the road and i would definitely let a body shop do them even if i knew how...only becuase i would wanna make sure that everything lined up right and that if anything went wrong i could take it back to the shop

a guy i talked to said to take your fenders off and shut the door. then tape the shit out of it so it doesn't move when you take the old hinges off. that way you know when you put the new ones on that your door is going to line up.

The door weighs about 90lbs...they're not easy to maneuver once removed. Tape is fine, but if memory serves me correctly, you have to have the door open to remove the old hinge from the door itself...

Your best best is to find a buddy, mark the door where the hinges are, remove the door from the hinges, mark the frame where the hinges are, then remove the hinges from the frame, Install the new hinges to the frame, using your marks as a general guideline, install the door on the new hinges using those marks as a guideline, and SLOWLY close the door and make sure the latch contacts the strike plate smoothly, and everything lines up. The door is designed to seal with a 1/2" margin...so if it's off 1/2" in any direction, you'll still be waterproof. Your main concern is smooth latching, and aesthetics - no big gaps around the door.

It's honestly not a terrible install - just be patient and make sure you have a buddy who can waste an afternoon with you. As with any major modification, just take your time, be patient, and roll with the punches - the end result will be so much better than you would ever see at a body shop.

As for your comment about taking it back to the shop if something goes wrong, fightinsk8ers, I have never been successful at getting a body shop to legitimately fix one of their fuck ups...it's always something like "we don't guarantee any aftermarket installs," or "that part wasn't designed for your car," or "well there was something else wrong in there, but we installed the part like you told us too - so that other problem probably fucked up your new part" - stupid shady bullshit. NEVER leave it up to a body shop to install something if you want peace of mind...they're con artists out to make a buck. If you're really concerned about the install and you really want to pay someone to do it, ask them beforehand what their warranty/guarantee is on the labor - they won't tell you that shit on their own, so you have to ask. Make sure they know that you WILL bring the shit back and expect them to fix it if they fuck up. They tend to put a little more effort into the first time. The customers who don't ask first end up SOL.

Easiest way... remove door and wiring... extend wires put door back on after you shave the inner fender a bit...

Marking the door is worthless because most kits move the door either a 1/4 inch or so with its position..

Ive done about 3 kits now....

Did a magnum now thats a hard car to do haha

LSD doors is best and only one I would use.... Comes with wire extentions... and also they are the only ones that have ever crash tested a door.

Most isn't all - 2 seconds with a sharpie is hardly going out of your way. It's one of those "Extra" things I do during installs, because it takes no time, and it helps a hell of a lot if I have to backtrack. And in my defense, I referred to the marks as "general guidelines."

I trust you know what you're doing, but it never hurts to have a reference to the way things were before you started...say if the kit ends up missing something, or you did something out of order and need to go back a step, or for whatever reason you decide to go back to stock, the stock locations are marked. Makes me a happy camper in those situations.

i got a question,
i have that rediculous 7 or 6 airbag upgrade kit on my scion.

and i heard that if i install lambo door on my scion if i have that kit it wll mess up the airbag or the airbag discharge if it ever needs to go off because of sensors or something like that ... is it true or naw ?

You need to have the car turned off for a while and the battery unplugged. Without an electrical signal, the airbags won't go off.

Nick, I think he's referring to when he gets in an accident, something causing the airbags to not deploy...

The sensors are in the frame, and they don't actually sense an impact - the sensor is an accelerometer and senses a rapid movement to the left or right. front and rear sensors do the same with extreme decelleration, or above normal acceleration (usually the result of an impact)

So the sensors will be fine, and as long as the wires are all correctly reconnected, you won't have a problem. But, yes, like Nick said, unplug the battery before you do any wire work. You don't want to risk electrical damage to the sensors or anything else for that matter.
