Standard RPM's for xB stock engine

My engine seems to be idling high to me, so I wanted to know if anyone knows what the standard RPM's should be for a stock engine in an xB2?

I'm running at almost 1500 RPMs when idling at Park and 700 when idling in drive also, running at 3000 at 75mph.

Is this normal?

I'm also hearing a tapping when the engine idles after running for awhile.

Lifter? or normal engine sounds?

Any knowledge appreciated.

my tc had a tapping noise for awhile but it has dissappeared...but it never idled to high.....

my tc revs about that high when at 75, and im idling at about 1100-1300 depending on hot or cold, also i believe the tapping sound comes from the cat built in to the headers cause i heard the same noise and i put my head close to the motor and i could hear it loud by the cat, ma just be thermal expansion

thanks for the replies... i'll keep and eye on it and if the tapping continues i'll take it in.
