Ok, so heres the deal:
I was adjusting my headlights yesterday morning. I have the single projector aftermarket ones. When I finished I turned the car off and switched the column selecter to off. But my tailtlights, dash lights, and turn signals wont turn off.
Unfortunatly the headlights are probably the ONLY thing I myself, or a member havent installed. I think maybe I grounded a connection or something, moving around the wiring for the halo LEDS.
Ive been told I might have blown a relay. Were would it be located? How could I check to see if this is it?

The dealer near my job wont even look at without charging me at least $95 per hour since the car is modded.:-x

So know Im stuck disconnecting the battery if I leave the car.

it's possible the lighting relay could be stuck but doubtful, relays have a very low failure rate and sticking open is very uncommon. the relay should be under the hood in the fuse box near the battery.

the only other thing I can think of is if the headlight halo power wire is pinched it could be backfeeding into the rest of the lighting system, but since the lights are on a relay I don't see that happening.

you know it's something simple that we are missing. let us know what happens.

That's what I'm thinking, too. It's possible that when you connected the halos, it also grounded out the connection for the other lights.

Start unpluging the different plugs on the lights one at a time... Chase down the wires that are causing the problems.

Thats what I was going to suggest, unplug 1 light at a time and see if it goes away, I had the same problem when I first installed my after market headlights..i had one bulb wired wrong. :wallb:

i had the same issue, i had a short, all i did was move the wires and retaped them... part of the body cut into one of the wires and grounded it and it stayed on... not sure if its the same for you... GL

****UPDATE*****

I traced the problem to the passenger side headlight plug. As soon as I dissconnected it, the lights shut off. So I have a starting point to work on when I get back.

lol.....ancient thread. The problem was the headlights themselves. cheap aftermarket stuff. I think the problem went away when we disconnected the halos.
