I have read from a few forums that in order to buy parts for an RS3 you need the VIN number. I used to have an RS3 but it was totalled..long story. I remember that I still have all my paperwork from the purchase and the VIN number for it. I have a really good hook up from a dealership and i want the TYC tail lights from an RS3. Is this all true? and maybe could i pull off getting the body kit from one?

Even if you have the VIN number, it'll cost you an arm and a leg to get it because RS3 parts are rare.

You can just go in and buy the tail lights and if you have a buddy at the dealership he should hook you up without a vin

I thought anyone could get the TYC's. They were available to anyone before the RS3 came out.

you cannot get any of the RS3 specific parts from anyone but a dealership or an owner of an RS3.
the TYCs that came on the RS3 have a red lens for the turn signal instead of a yellow one.

jordan, you can get with the scion guys and give them the VIN and they can get you a price quote, even at dealer cost they are an arm and a leg, i just got my quote for the front and back bumpers.

James why dont you get the VRD grill. its basicly the same.

it all depends on how much the dealer or parts guy is willing to do for you.
your can even find the cost of these parts without a VIN number. either way they will cost you an arm, a leg and your right ear.

the 2 bumpers is gonna run me about 2700/ oh but it will look so damn nice i can't get over it.

you can also get the same knockoff "effect" as the RS3 TYCs if you apply a red vinyl to the regular TYCs/
