The easiest thing you could do is like a bunch of others did and what I am gonna do.. Take it to somebody. I heard its not too bad if you have done a spring install before but I have heard soem horror stories. I wanted to attempt it myself but I dont wanna run into head aches.

I am sorry I am not more of a help but I do wish you the best of luck on the install, I believe there is a tech section here and I know there are a few write ups about how to install over on SL try that.

Meh ... yea the tC isn't an easy breezy drop. You'll probably want another hand, and someone who's done it before to get you through it.

Take it to someone... save you a missing limb

It can be done by 1 person.... if that person is experienced with the tC and springs. Otherwise... get someone else to help you. Someone skilled... or take it somewhere.

i was thinking about having a couple of buddies help me. they have done their springs on their xB and what not. Good idea? I probably wont do much bc i really am not knowledgable with my car yet

The fronts are decently easy... the rears on the tC are a lot harder to do. We have an independent rear suspension unlike the xB & xA. It's tougher, but doable. Also, you'll have to pull out some of your interior too. The 2 panels on the sides of the trunk need to come out to be able to access the rear strut towers.

I was told breaker bars help out as well as the compressor.

Yeah - you'll need a breaker bar - everything's torqued down really tight.

If you have air tools it's sooooo much easier.

The guy that did mine yesterday needed to use his air ratchet for the rear underside bolts.

Springs....

They're right that the rears are a bit harder... the really important thing to remember is to mark them before taking the stock spring off, so you can align them back when you put them back on the car, as it has to be PERFECT... you'll see what I mean... you only have to take the side panels of the trunk and the support behind the rear seats off and you can get into the rear strut bolts with a really tight fit, (You don't have to take the interior panels off on the rear passenger area like some installs have said...

You also can use open end wrenches to get the front struts off, rather than taking the whole wiper assembly off... it saves a ton of time.... most everything else is just unbolt/compress/remove spring/add spring/uncompress/bolt back on in reverse order. It's straightforward, but you MUST have a spring compressor setup and I'd STRONGLY suggest air tools, or the install will take hours longer... I used a breaker bar for some of the bolts, as they're on tight and air tools to compress...

Matt I think I would be too with a fresh install... Besides you'll probably (as well as I will be) always go slow around holes and bumps because thats your baby and you dont wanna f**k anything up.
