I just add up some stuff on my 2010 tC yesterday. Somehow, the dyno came out 135 hp all stock except a megan axle back. After added injen CAI and Strup 4-1 header. I gained arnd 10-12 hp, the dyno was around 145-150 hp after add ups and tunning with unichip. I just had my tC for arnd 2 months, so I m just guessing my first dyno was 135 hp with a megan exhaust was a pretty bad stock equipments hp numbers. Do any body have the clue or advices what shud I do in the future add ups? :) Thanks

IDK, save for turbo? What kind of dyno was it? I peaked at 143 HP 144 TQ on a Mustang Dyno with my 07 Spec tC all stock. At least you know your gains since you have a baseline to start with.

Def. a turbo, but if youre wanting an instant gain (without a turbo) you can upgrade your camshafts (normally aspirated spec.) they require little to no mods. a few mods maybe. and you use them with OEM valve springs. upgrade your headers, fuel injectors and fuel pump. have to completely reprogram the ECU of course. Thats pretty much everything I did before I got my turbo. and i could definitely tell a difference. I just upgraded my camshafts again to the stage 2 (Forced induction spec.) after getting it. Also (its completely preference and opinion) but Id say a catback if you ever change the axle back. Megan is some good parts though!

Cam's are not plug and play, its just like pNp head, it allows you to tune more aggressively. which really doesn't do much unless you have a standalone and can advance timing.

As far as power adding parts or performance parts, adding a good midpipe is going to result in a little more but keep in mind your going to need a huge resonator, you already have an intake. Other then doing a turbo build you don't really have a lot of options. No one has really done a NA build though depends on the route you want to go.

As you said huge resonator, which 1 would you go for my tC?

that's a delima you already have a header so one cat is removed replacing your midpipe is going to remove your second cat. Now you can either buy a tusdo, or megan midpipe but in order to put a better quality resonator in it your going to have to have some one probably a local muffler shop chop it up and weld one in. or you could have a custom pipe made with a resonator and put it on yourself. As far as resonators go your going to want a 2.25 in diameter and possibly two of them, the best resonator i have found is hushpower by flowmaster.

keep in mind if you don't have a resonator its going to sound like a 2 stroke with vtech

Thank you. Well I m really new to cars. I understood most of it what you ve just said. I am going to get the megan mid pipe but I don't really understand the second part, like the reasonator. Is it the muffler part or mid pipe part? Sorry to ask you all that, I am like a blank paper of cars. =\

Ok so you don't HAVE to have a resonator. Its only function is to quiet the raspiness of the engine after you've removed the catalytic converters (one in the stock exhaust manifold and one in the stock mid-pipe.) Its just a chamber that gets welded into an exhaust pipe (most of the time being the mid-pipe because its usually straight and long.)

If you like the sound of your car the way it is, you don't need it.

Starting from the top down you have your axle back portion of the exhaust which would be your muffler, the next section of exhaust would be your mid pip which on the stock exhaust your resonator the long tube looking thing towards the back then you have your secondary cat which is the little tube looking thing, following that you have your s-pipe/or down pipe which ever nomenclature you choose to call it, then you have your header which contains your pre cat on the stock exhaust.. Putting a resonator/s is going to be the difference between having a deep exhaust tone and having a bubble bee exhaust tone. It is honestly what you prefer to have it sound like. I hope this helped a little to clarify things..

Thank you so much!!! really appreciated for your explaination! :) I probably will do it. Because my car sounds pretty raspy and weird now.. =( thanks again giving me all these clues. Btw, one more question, what I am gonna have is the mid pipe, so my exhaust is only the down pipe is stock, so you think changing a megan downpipe wud also help with power or sound? Coz I don't think I will put a turbo or supercharger into my tC, its gonna cost like a bitch. So I think what I will have done in the end of this year is having a full exhaust done, and flywheels/ sport clutch and upgrade the breaks. Whats your opinion? :)
