So this summer, my big mod is to buy some nice shoes for my tc. I am really liking the style of the Rota Grids (I know, they are common).
However, I'm gonna have to special order them, cause my car is dropped on s-techs, and can't fit the 18x9.5
I'm thinking I'll order the 17x9.5 Rota grids in gloss black, 5x100 bolt pattern. They will fit better, not look so massive on a car dropped on s-techs, and prevent any rubbing issues.
Now I need some advice:
1) what offset should I get, so that the wheels are flush with the body and/or pushed a little out? :-)
2) what size tire should i get so that they are not stretched and don't rub?
Any help is greatly appreciated, but no bashing on the wheel choice. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't post.

Dropping from an 18" to a 17" wheel will not help you with rubbing. Only things that will change that are width, offset and tire size.

I dont have 18s right now. I have stockies, and am looking to upgrade my wheels to something wider, such as 17x9.5. I need help determining offset, and tire size.
and Malagger yea, I was on that site the past few days, and as I mentioned to you, that is probably where I will have to custom order them from. I suppose I can give em a call sometime, but I still need help determining the stuff as mentioned before

Ok will I did some checking around, my buddy is running 18x9" +45 offset on his stock springs, and its fine, and looking at it closely it looks like on s-types it would barely rub, so Id suggest no wider than 9" with a +40 max.

Big Will- if you wanna run 17x9.5 you'll need about a 15 offset to be flush, but at the same time you're going to need a stretch to keep from rubbing. If you don't want to go to crazy I'd recommend 225/40
Phunky-Fresh- 215/45 won't give you much stretch at all. If you're running 17x8 I'd say go 205/40 and 215/40 for the 17x9.
Here's a pic of 9's with 215/40 on my car. And fair warning if anybody is trying to go flush on a tC get use to see your front fenders like mine. It's a daily thing.
