hey everyone im steven i just joined while i was looking for a solution to my problem. ill tell you about it... well i installed an intake for 06-08 scion tc. i have an 08 tc. well i got the part.....but the MAF fiting on the intake itself was to big for my sensor. i rigged it to work but not in the smartest way.. aka ill have to buy a new sensor in the future. anyways the screws dont line up with the sensor and the whole is to big and has to much interferience for the tc to stay running. i dont understand i baught the right year part. can anyone help? i can post a pic if needed unless similar situations have accured. well looking forward to feedback a future advice with other problems/reccomendations with the future project. thanks everyone
steven.

Hi and welcome to the site! What brand intake is it? And yes please post pictures it will help.
This should really be down in the Engine board though, it'd get more responses as far as solutions.

It's hard to tell looking at those pics since they are so bright. I'd need to see the MAF actually on your intake. It looks like it's shaped right but that doesn't mean the one you got is. Hard to trust a no branded cai from ebay. Fitment is always an issue usually.

The intake you have fits 06-08??? That's a typo on the sellers part if the MAF doesn't fit. Intakes for the tC are made for 05-06, then there's 07+ because the MAF was changed. I'd try a MAF adapter, Randode makes/sells one and then there's Spectre(don't know of anyone that has run this adapter, I might try it if I get a friends 05 K&N CAI).

ya well i also baught an adaptor.... for 07 to 08 fiting. must of been another typo because nont of the adaptor fitings worked! bothers me so much. i even talked to the guy i baught it from and he said maybe i installed it wrong. unless there is more than one way to install and intake.... i think not that wouldnt make sense. he said it was the right part for the right year! i don't thinkso. im guessing im SOL on this one.

If you go ahead and post in the tC first gen section someone ought to help you out!

Sounds like you really are sol.. You have some options for other intakes. The cheapest and closest to the price you paid would be the Raceland CAI. It's $79. I own it myself and it works great.
There are some others in the $100-$150 range, then the name brands like K&N, AEM, TRD, and Injen that are generally around $300.

Welcome from CKY.
Yup, 05-06 engines are set up a little different from 07-10. You get 1 extra horse power!

Welcome to the family Steven! Hope you are able to get the MAF mounted correctly. Sometimes getting things on eBay is a "you get what you pay for" type of deal. I would be very cautious in the future when looking at items on there that aren't name brand. Name brand are going to be more expensive, but you know they put research into their products so that they work right.
