Does anyone know if the Ingalls Rear Tower Brace will work with the tC's factory sub being where it is? I haven't gone under the mat to see where the bolts are etc, but based on the picture it looks like it would be in the way.

It will be possibly. Depends how large that bar is really. You have a bit of clearance underneath the sub, but idk if the angle and all would be enough.
Here is a pic I found online of one that looks like that one. Could be it too idk. But from looking at this I wouldn't think it'd fit underneath.

I actually have that(got it from a friend) but haven't installed it. Never got around to installing it on my 07 tC and now that you mention the sub I'd have to take a good look at everything to check that it'll not interfere with it. You're talking of the factory 6inch sub in the floor right?

Tell you guys what. If it won't fit try this. I know the screws holding my factory sub down are kind of short but you could get longer ones with same threads, throw a couple washers on the bottom side or even a rubber bushing to jack it up just enough to clear it. You shouldn't need much more room really. From the pic I posted the bar looks like it's a 1" bar or something. Bottom of sub doesn't touch so may be designed so it clears.

I took my tire off later in the day yesterday to find out a nail is stuck causing a slow air leak. I started to look aroudn in the house for the bar but no luck. Found out it's stuck in storage, when I get it out I'll test fit to see how clearances are. I know for the foam on the left of the spare can be cut to fit around the bar, seen pics posted of it.

Heres my $.02..
That pic is of the Ingalls rear strut. As a matter of fact, Ingalls is the only one that makes a rear strut. It does fit in a 05+ no problem, the foam cubby on the right side goes right back in. Now, if the 05+ foam has the same dimensions as the 08+ sub, your good.. Which as far as I know, it does.. That strut bar is made from a 1in square metal bar, the ends are just welded together.. I want one too!!!

If washers are used to raise the sub box then the lip of the grey plastic trim lined at the edge if the hatch might need a piece cut out at the passenger side as it'll get pushed up.

To keep or not to keep the factory sub box? That is the question. I don't feel like cutting into the box unless I had a spare. The spacer could work but then the hatch floor would be uneven. Decisions decisions.

Okay, heres my real $.02.. and this time im rubbin' the two pennies together just to make cents!!!
Your supposed to laugh..
Install the bar!!!
Replace the 6" sub with a 10" stealth enclosure that fits inside the spare..
Genius!!! Now its still boomin, stiff and hidden!!!

Eventually I might do this, but I have no money and in order to do this, I'd have to buy the sub, build a box, buy the bar, buy a head unit, buy an amp, buy the wiring and I have no money for a while... So stock is how I'll roll for a while.

It's the truth! Have more fun slamming her into apexs than making yourself go deaf with bass that drowns the treble.
