View Full Version : Having problems with my Cathodes.

I ordered two Cathode kits from Oznium. I wired everything up and when I hit the power to them, only one lit-up all the way and the other three lit-up half way or less. Oznium sent me a second set and I checked them before I did anything, and the lit-up just fine. Then after I extended the wires to reach the transformers I got the same problem again. All of the cathodes won't light-up all the way, even the one that was working fine from the first kit(I never touched that one).
I'm using 20 gauge wire to extend and hook-up power and ground.
Would anyone know where I'm going wrong?
Or should I chuck these Cathodes and get some LEDs instead?
here's a few shots.

have you tried to test them again without the 20g wire? that might be the problem.

You can't extend the wires between the cathode and the transformer. You have to extend it after the transformer. That thing is made to put out enough juice to light up the cathode at that length.

Hey Cory, Thanks. I thought I was doing something wrong...now I know. I'll try that and see what happens.
