ok figured I'd post some pics of what I have currently, still have some work to do, like a rear trim peice, finish the top, finish the amp rack/redo wires, and add more lighting/fans, debating on recovering front with fleece and painting it when I finish the top and have it painted

thats the state its in, installed, I needed it in so I could get rid of the old, (as it turned out) mildewed box

i take it each sub is in its own box, right? and you just wrapped it as one?

do you NEED more fans? you can have TOO many fans...

your wiring does bother me lol.

why dont you come to the ar section any more :(

ohh, and is the amp off center, or is it just the angle of the picture?

yes 2 boxes, each wrapped individually or mostly till I ran out of cloth, then a front and top peice with stitched together back boards/amp rack, the back finish peice I'll put on will let me inset the fan, and clean it up some, and it will cover the entire back of the setup, probably be painted, my only real issue is mounting, I've got screws run through the corners of the front and through the top, which will be replaced once I get off my ass and finish the correct top, mounting the top will be a pita, I've got L brackets that will hold it in the middle but I'm not 100% how to mount it on the ends but I'll figure that out later, in another month I'll have a few months to figure it all out, but at the same time till I find a better job (at 23 I have over 25k in bills and make exactly 8.75 an hour, and hate my job and my boss) I will be spending nothing on my car for a while, as I've spent about 6k on it in the last year

can't have too many fans, I want two that push air into the box, and I'm going to put two smaller fans under the amp to pull heat off of it, and you really can't have too many fans, especially in arkansas, you'll never get the temp to drop on an amp more then 10 - 15 degrees with just fans, they are also wired so they only turn on with the amp, but soon I hope to have the one(or both/all when I get them installed) wired to only turn on at a certain tempature

the wiring was a rush job for a show, I was up till 5 am wiring/temp fixing the box when I had a show I had to be headed to at 7 am

long story, not getting into it, there are a few in this club that know my reasons, but I don't feel like beating a dead horse or getting myself banned/kicked out for saying the reasons I don't visit the arkansas section or actually do anything with the chapter

its the angle of the pic, the amp is pretty centered, I do have to do some adjusting though

its not a cooling issue, after you put in so many fans the air is bouncing around in so many places that it becomes counter productive.

well until I was told about scionlife I had only spent about 1800 on my car, body kit and wheels, I had an amp and subs and had those installed for nothing, then I found out about scionlife, then oznium... scikotics, and saw Rob's xb

I'm also hoping to sell some shit, I got xb bumpers stacked up out back so high the faa wants me to put one of those red flashing lights on them

I'm aiming for a tornado effect with the fans I've got(only one currently installed) so that the air spins over the amp, neither will be aimed at the amp, the ones I put under it will be only to pull the heat from the underside of the amp and away

Would echo this to stress it. A lot of good info on this topic can be found in the various custom computer forums out there ( www.ocforums.com is a pretty good one, imo). Since they deal so much with heat from O/C`ing, a lot can be learned from how they set up fans for moving air.

Looking forward to seeing more
