I had this thread on ScionLife and thought I would post it here.
I didn't get into the wiring but all I did was run the wires down the middle piller then along the carpet and so on and tapped into the switch I had for my under dash and seat lights.
Usual disclaimer: Mod at your own risk.
1. I used Oznium 4.7inch Flex Leds. This is what the package looks like.

2. Next I used an old screw driver that I had sharpened along time ago to remove the center rib in the handle. The end was sharp enough that I used hand pressure to make cuts and remove pieces along the rib. You can see some of the pieces in the pic.

3. This is the rib removed.

4. Then I used a 3/16 Dremel bit to smooth the center out.

5. Now its time to install the led's. You don't need to use the double sided tape. The led fits in the groove perfectly and tight.

6. The handle has holes that work perfectly for the wiring.

7. Some pics of the led's installed in the handle. The led's could go down into the groove more if you forced them or trimmed some of the rubber, but I like the way they looked as is.

9. Still functional and best of all since they are rubber coated they are kid proof.

10. Day shot but you get the idea.
