Return Air Damper Switch Illumination
You need your favorite color LED, wire, solder (optional) 3/16 drill bit and drill.
Tired of not knowing where your fresh air / recirculate switch is at, in the dark?

First remove the center section.

Remove the two screws behind the outer controls, and pull it forward and out.

Remove the three quick connects in back to pull it completely out of the way.

Now gently depress the plastic locks

and pull the white damper control assembly slightly forward to expose the tap for the switch.

Lightly press the tab and pull it straight out.
Now a drill press is real nice, free hand people, be careful!

Drill a 3/16 hole through the back side. TAKE YOUR TIME!

Clean out the junk,

and either prepare to install the LED, or you can add a small hole through it to expose the light. (Purple light in my RS 4.0 view at the bottom) I like the my green install better in the RS 3.0,no through hole, more subtle.

Install the LED.

Time to reinstall. There is a window on the lower left side Scion gave you for this mod. Say thank you Scion! :wink:

Carefully slide the control back in. Notice the metal tap at the bottom, line it up correct, don't force it.

Check your wires. Be sure you leave some slack, and that it works freely. if so snap the assembly back in. Now find the green and white wires on the large white conector.

Green is hot (positive) from the dimmer switch, white is ground. Carefully tap into here and tape them up so they won't short out.
guess what? Your finished! Put it all back together, and enjoy knowing if that's your feet you smell,
