I got a call from Scion a few months back about the moonroof deflector recall but nothing about the airbags... That's kinda worrying me now

I got something a few months ago about my airbag sensors. They changed mine out. I never received anything about my moonroof though.

The recall was for the 06 tC with side curtain airbags if you slamed the door to hard they would go off.
and the sunroof is for the pieces that flips up when its open that when rocks hit it it would shatter so they put on a 3M clear piece to stop that. You cant even see it on ther if they do it right..

These are OLD recalls.
These are for 2005 and 2006 tC's only.
Several 2005 (and early 2006) tC's did not have the protective layer underneath the sunroof wind deflector. When hit with a rock or other debris, the deflector would shatter.
The other recall is for tC's from '05-06 with Side Curtain Airbags only. The Side impact sensors would still be powered on for about 30 seconds when the car was off.... if the door was slammed hard enough in that timeframe, it would trigger the airbags.
Neither recalls affect '07+ tCs.

Then you're fine.
You may want to check the wind deflector though. If you don't see a black sticker on the bottom side of it - you may want to call scion.

Is the plastic piece behind my deflector to prevent that? I drive an '07...

It's a laminate... a sticker really.

Maybe you misunderstood me - lol - when you look at the back of an '07 deflector, there's a plastic piece between the brackets holding it on. Is that something to prevent it from breaking like the plastic laminate thing?

Nope - that's part of the frame itself, i believe. Look at the glass. if you see a sticker on it near the edge that extends the whole length of the deflector, that's the laminate.

they told me that if it was up and a pebble hit it going 40 mph it would break, so for a week till i got it fixed i kept the sunroof closed, i dont need to sliece and diced.

I found out how they fixed the side curtain airbag issue.... the sensor was originally installed using two bolts...allowing the sensor to wobble, All the fix was is to add a 3rd bolt to prevent the wobble lol.
