I was wondering if anyone has fit 20's on a box with the tien s tech lowering springs. IF so wat do I have to cut, bang in or remove to make them fit. The rims I want to fit are the motegi DP12 with a 215/30/ tire. From the looks of the drop w/ my 18's I know some modify must be done. But I just wanted to know if anyones has done this yet.

the s techs are around a 1 inch drop right? anyways ya its possible im running a 2 1/2 inch drop in the rear and it tucks and the front is jacked up a little higher but im on coilovers, youll need to hammer part of the firewall back and trim some plastic in the rear, other than that depending on how low you go it depends on how muchg trimming and work you have to do. I put them on drove it to see where things rubbed and caught and then went back to cutting some more. the wheel and tire combo should work great and fit without alot of modifications, oh and you will rub lock to lock so expect that

I expect rubbing... 19's barely fit and still rub unless you can lift the car up. The only box that I know that runs 19's and doesn't rub is on air suspension.

sounds like the rims my buddy bruce put on his box > he hammered the shit out of his undercarrige to make them fit . only problem he had to fiberglass up the foot rest area beause he sprung afew leaks !http://upload4.postimage.org/499159/5734_1.jpg (http://upload4.postimage.org/499159/photo_hosting.html)

That might have been the guy... That's right.... he was at Danbury. He had to seriously rape his wheel wells and he STILL rubbed when turned all the way.

i beleive hes running 35 series tires and a 2 inch drop and that would explain the rubbing, you should be good with only minor lock to lock rubing with a 1 inch drop

Well as a matter of fact .. I was running 19" TRD's on my box, lowered on the S-Techs with no rubbing whatsoever. And now I have upgraded to a 20 x 7.5 and am going to an air suspension. The rim manufacturer guaranteed me no rubbing as this ri mwas made specifically for the xB. But once I get the 20 on there I'll share pics, otherwise the first pics I'll post will be of the box bagged on 19" TRD's
Hope that helps ..

i hope they werent talking about the 20 inch wheel cause it will rub on something and with air your gunna have to do some more trimming and cutting which is always fun :D cant wait to see pics

OK I now have 2 rim manufacturers that absolutely guarantee no rubbing with 20's. In fact they sent me pics of one of thier boxes on 20's with air and say they have no problems. It is possible, and now as rim manufacturers begin to adjust offset to accomodate our cars, we may begin to see more that are a no hassle install.

2. S.S.W. I believe

i still dont understand how they can say no rubbing, im running a 45 offset 20 by 7.5 wheel with 30 series tires and it rubs lock to lock and i still had to trim stuff to make them fit, maybe if your xb isnt lowered it wouldnt rub but who would do that?lol

fyi that orange box def has their fenders rolled. i mean i can absolutly garuntee no rubbing too if your own a tube chasis ;). IMHO rubbing isn't that bad as long as it isn't excessive

There is the next difference, my 20's for example are 7" wide not 7.5", that makes a big difference too. I see alot of new rim companies going to 7" wheels to accomodate a no rub 20" rim ..

i jus think its bs how they say you wont rub but u need to roll your fenders or shit. Yes it does make a huge difference an dis the primary reason i'm runing 8 wide rather than 8.5 on my tc. If you want 20's your going to have to do some modification. Simple as that but believe me its well worth it
