I have not heard of any engine swaps for it yet. It would be cheaper to probably just turbo your current engine.

Would you be able to fit the V6 out of a Camry in there?
Not that it would be a very logical thing to do, but just a thought.

The V6 idea is only a good idea!!! It would cost entirely way to much money unless it was given to u, and take half the money or all of it that you would want to invest in a new motor and just do up your curent motor!!!

if you are seriouse aboutswapping a motor nto your tc, you need to research a bit! you can't say.. "i want to do a motor swap in my tc", and then follow it up by... "what would fit".

man, if you want to make the car faster, throw a turbo kit on it. if you want to make it haul ass, throw a turbo kit on it, and build the motor. if you want to go out and whoop down a new shelby mustang or a modded Z06, build the motor, install a huge turbo, upgrade the trannsmission, run new fuels lines, run like 28psi of boost, and hope you get traction (which you wont on the street).

a motor swap would be cool, but if your main purpose is to make your car go faster, there are alot more cost effective ways to do so.

Put in a tundra motor. That's what Chris Rado and Kenny Tran have done in their pro FWD tC's.

But be prepared to spend like $10k on it.

I though I heard they used a Solara engine in the Rado time attack car... or in one of the drag cars, I can't remember exactly...

Like Ben said, a guy put a V6 in his tC. The guy is from Chicago and if I remember correctly, works at a shop that does crazy engine swaps. He had a lot of problems to overcome, but he did it. He is the only one that I know of.

As far as a RWD setup in a tC, it would be really tough because of how the underbody of the car is. It would take A LOT of work to get a driveshaft to work under the car. However, with enough money, anything is possible.

2000-2005 the only motor available was a 1.8L and the highest hp was 180, seems like an awful lot of work and money to squeeze out a whopping 20hp. The only SMALL benefit I could possibly see is that the GT-S offered a 6speed manual tranny, but for the money, would not even be worth it. Now maybe doing the 3.0L TT motor out of the Supra, and going rwd.....now that would be a swap!

Dumb IDEA! 2.4L 2az if potent enough on boost. Only thing worth swapping would be to make it RWD or AWD. Celica motor like Jester mentioned is a freakin 1.8L (high compression so it does not favor boost), and has little tQ compared to the stock 2.4L already in the car. Might have 20 more HP, but not enough tQ to push around a heavy car like the tC.
