I wouldn't recommend doing it without someone who's done the install before. My friend who's a toyota mechanic helped me and it still took awhile. You'll need a floor jack and some jack stands and a spring compressor... I can't list all the sockets you'll need. You have to remove the whole strut to install the spring. If you don't know what your doing compressing the spring can be very dangerous. To do the rear of the car you have to pull your interior panels out.

I helped one of our guys do a set of Tein's on his TC. I'll never do that shit again! 8 Freakin' hours to change a set of springs. I did my box in just about 45 mins.

I think we changed my springs in like 5 hours... lots of goofing off though... but we did it in a parking lot and had a smaller ratchet powered spring compressor... Hotchkis springs are progressive wound(TRD are even)... so they can be tricky when your letting them back out, they don't always want to seat properly in the strut.

Harbor Freight sells spring compressors for $7-8 and you will also need a jack and jackstands. As for sockets, you need most of them from 10-22mm and be sure to have a long breaker bar. It definitely helps to have someone that has done it before. I have done 4 installs and am figuring out the best ways to get everything on and off, but if it is your first time, be prepared for some cursing. Good luck.

Those springs are the hardest to do... The bottom coils are so close...

Kieth ain't liein... me and my buddy had to use the plate on the strut to compress the springs which is a little more dangerous, but the TRD struts have a lip that hooked nicely on the compressor we had(not sure about non-TRD struts).....

I would trade it in for a xB and save the 6 hours or so.

Sorry, just playing...it is dead in here tonight. I am hearing voices and everything...

Hey, did you already get this done? Or do you still need some tips?
Those compressors you rent at autozone won't fit the rear hotchkis springs.
But I won't waste my time explaining how I did mine (or the other 3 sets I did) if no one cares. :(
