So I sent NIA Auto Design an email about my front splitter because I realized that it was very popular at not only exposed but all of the shows ive been to. even just driving around it gets recognition.
This is their reply to me.
Eric,
We are actually in the process of building a lip kit for the 2nd gen xb,
either way if the demand is there we would love to produce it. We would
need 10 interested buyers who will give a deposit (50% of actual cost to produce) and then we would start making the mold.
Thank You!

So with that sayed, Who is interested?
Oh and if you have not seen my splitter, pics below. Bolts on to factory bumper screws, no bumper modifications required.

I have the carbon fiber one from APR that's actually made for the tC. Fits perfect! Definitely a head turner.
Good luck with this. Free bump!

Sweet thanks! I'm planning on getting an CF APR lip custom made to fit under the one I have now. Should look pretty sick when done.:wohow:

Kevin - I have a 2010 and I might be in. I was thinking about the TC like triflin, I really like the support arms... so EVIL!!!
But, a direct fit XB2 would look very clean.
Price???

Sweet, I havn't made anything official yet since NIA wants 10 depositors. I can send them an email and ask how much the deposit is going to be. I'll Let you know how much it will be if they give me some figures. They havn't made a mold of mine yet and mine is the only one that exists (that I know of. lol).
Yeah the CF one looks awesome. APR can make custom lips so I might fit one of theirs under the one I have now. The custom one comes with support arms also.
I'll get those prices in ASAP though. :geek:

Mine is made of sheet metal in the core of it and then I used fiberglass and bondo around that. It isn't light (weighs about 6 or 7lbs) but when I get down to Miami, hopefully in a few weeks, we will start the mold which would be MUCH lighter and I'll also know price. I'm pretty sure the molds are made of the same material as our OEM bumpers.

Keep your quality standards high. I'm not opposted to a metal core maybe Aluminum? Just sayin' there's plenty of cheap crap out there...bring the quality.

The one I have is something homemade with stuff from home depot. Because its solid with fiberglass and bondo inside, it makes it heavy. I wouldn't submit something I made to a company if they are going to produce it with cheap materials. It's going to be as strong as our stock bumpers and WAY lighter than the one I made. No legitimate splitter comes with an aluminum core. If the lip has any thickness to it (like mine has about half an inch) they place strong compacted foam or cardboard hexes to maximize rigidity. I will make sure they make it the right way before anyone buys it. I don't want to give myself a bad name. lol.:mrblue:

x3 lol
Like I said before, I'll make sure they make it right so that it doesn't chip and crack and all the other bad things that occur. Mine has been on my car for a year now and it went through an accident and did not break or crack. I also travel daily in the busiest parts of Orlando and there is debris and roadkill EVERYWHERE!!!! lol. And mine is still ticking:smile: So, if its not as strong as mine it won't sell, cuz I won't let it. But if you guys want one I can always make another by hand.... but lets not jump to conclusions, I'll make sure this is done right the first time.
Thanks for all the comments, this great for me cuz that way I can explain to them what everyone is looking for on quality. Although my personal standards are pretty high already. lol:DanseurBleu:

So, Eric, With the one you made weighing in at 6-7 lbs.. how's the bumper holdin up to that weight?

So, Eric, With the one you made weighing in at 6-7 lbs.. how's the bumper holdin up to that weight?
It actually holds on very well. The weight is distributed throughout the perimeter of the bottom of the bumper held by the factory screws of the bumper and splash shield. Since the weight is widely distributed you can figure how much weight each screw holds. each screw only feels about .9 to 1.1 lbs respectfully for each screw. 8 screws hold it place. When I put it on for the first time I though it was going to either break or break the bumper. lol. But the wide distribution of the weight helps a lot. The bumper hasn't flexed or deformed.

cool/. that was going to be my next question.. if the bumper was starting to deform.. light weight would be a huge plus

yeah thats pretty much the only disadvantage with the splitter. Have to be very careful where u drive thru and stuff like that, especially on a suspension set like the df210s. But with the stance your B has and the splitter on it.... would look so SICK!!!!

I'm sure you will, we're all just tossing out thoughts, just like if we were in your garage looking at your car.

No rubbing issues on mine! I'm on DF210's. My splitter itn't as thick as the one Eric is making, but it is under my lip kit, so it's about the same.
Hope that clears any questions up for you guys.

I still hav'nt been able to go to Miami, so I still don't know cost. Hopefully by the end of May I'll have some figures. I'll post it up on the first post. Then get a role call of who wants to place a deposit.
I'm glad that you like it!

I will eventually have some molds going once I get back from Puerto Rico and able to go down to Miami. But right off the bat I don't have anything, just the one I have on mine. I'm expecting to go to Miami 2 weekends from now to get a mold and a price going. hopefully I can get this going soon cuz I have some people that are interested which is awesome! ^_^
