Cutting Out Sciko Logo

[Kid Morbid]

So what I am thinking of doing is having the logo on the backside of my box, on the open face here.

I want to have it lit up of course from behind, I just don't know the best way about going and having it done. I was thinking taking up the carpet, taking mdf and spacing it from the box about an inch. And maybe wrapping and carefully cutting the logo out of the carpet too.


Just not sure the cleanest way to cut it out of the mdf.

1/4" mdf and a scroll saw. do you just want floating letters?

Yeah just floating letters. I want it precise though. The carpet would be the hardest part to cut I think and keep it from fraying. Or I could maybe do something diff on that side. Depending if Scikoglow can custom cut me something, say instead of an outline like they do, cut it out from a piece and send me the whole piece maybe. Idk.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding: you want the letters to look like they're pusshing up outta the fabric?

Like dirtyred said. Scroll saw the letters out 1/*4" mdf. Then just recarpet the whole thing. Wrap it all and then use a dull blade (somthing that won't tear or cut the carpet) and then trace the letters. You'll have to fiz the letters to the surface first and then spray glue the whole thing before you carpet it but it should all hold up real nice.
Do it all the time on custome boxes with logos and stuff

Nah not push up out of the fabric. I want the letters to be cut out, and have it backlit. So when you look at it, you see the letters clearly. Just not sure how to finish/cover it. I figured carpet would be really hard to keep cut to the shapes and it'd end up fraying and not staying down, less maybe I rapped it around towards the inside but I don't think it'd look very clean.

I just thought of one way I could do it that is easier than my other ideas so far, and that is uncarpet it, make a frame extending from the backside as thick as a sheet of mdf, running lexan over that and bracing it in the middle of course, running the lights in behind, then instead of carpet I could use a spray paint or texture paint even maybe instead and stencile the letters out. Not sure how that'd look though.

get me a scikotics logo the size you want and i can cut it out of 1/4" mdf. then you can take that and paint it body color.

Idk if I'd do body color. Idk what I wanna finish it in yet. But once I get an idea or find something i like I'll get with you on that. I mean the logo should be big enough so it shouldn't be too many tight spots.
