Scion brand led tail lights

So my wife's gen2 xB scion brand LED tail lights have been acting up. First, the left brake light cluster went out during a road trip to Ohio. We took it to the local dealer and got it replaced no prob. Then about a week later we drove to our new home in Virginia and the same thing happened to the right side. The first Virginia dealer said they could not order a new one because it had been discontinued. I thought they were full of crap and they were just being a-holes and didn't want to deal with me because all of the Toyota recalls they were taking care of. I went to another dealer and they said they weren't discontinued but they were on stop sale. Niether one took care of the problem so my tail lights are still out on the right side.

Has anyone else had any problems with the Scion LED tails? What can we do about it? I feel somewhat let down. I have owned nothing but Toyota products my whole life. Are these Virginia dealerships just retarded? My B is still under warranty and this is the first time the dealer didn't fix it or couldn't fix it.

I have had both of mine replaced over a year ago by TRD Sparks! I would say contact Jamie and get the real scoop on them!

Ive had mine over a year and knock on wood no problems yet with them. But ive heard after I got mine that they did put a stop sales on them but thats been awhile a go.

Yes, there is a stop sale on them. The dealerships can't touch them except to take them out and put a factory set in. The ones on the shelves can't be sold because of this problem. I've had mine since 08 and this is the 2nd car that I have them on and I haven't had any trouble. Only option you have is to either put a set of factory ones in, get a set of aftermarket ones, or cut them open and fix the problem yourself. Good luck.

My right light is dimmer than my left one. and my left one blinks periodically! but that is all that mine r doing, so far.

Thanks for the advice. I've contacted TRDsparks for the real story.
I do have the ability to fix them but I don't think I should have to. I paid good money for them and they should be covered under the original vehicle purchace warranty. If I break em open I am sure the warranty will be voided. Does anyone have the scion customer service number? All I have is my iPhone right now and I can't open up the scion website

Pm Carl.. MAD_SCIONTIST.. her had some aftermarket LED tails.. I forget what brand, but they are SAWEET.. the ones from Scion, TYC.. keep failing on people left and right. :( JUST LIKE THE SUPER CHARGERS... :(

I am actually on my 3rd set of TYC's but I might be changing them out soon... Nothing have thankfully gone wrong with the ones that I have now though

It is a factory defect in the tailights im on my 3rd set and cant get a refund on them cause i would get a different kind is my advise.

:Update: called scion customer service (866) 707-2466 and at first they offered to put the factory ones back in. That wasn't good enough for me so my wife and I asked for a refund on the the TYC's AND factory replacements. That took a couple of days but we got what we wanted. Also, I am keeping the TYC's. I am going to repair them with oznium LED's if that's what is messed up on them. I'll find out where the fault is on them and keep you posted.
