Friendly Wave

Fellow Scikotics,

Ive been thinking about this for a couple days. Seeing motorcycles around watching them pass each other and throw a courtesy hello wave. I was wondering if any scikotics do this, with other scikotics (obviously cuz u know each other) and other people driving by in a scion. I have tried doing this but most people ignore it, or just plain don't see it. In one instance one other fellow scion owner flashed me with their lights then we waved when we passed. I think its a nice gesture. But what do the rest of you think?:clap:

I usually wave, flash, honk my horn at other scions....specially other toasters! I usually get a nice wave back.

When I first got my scion thats all we use to do... people lost that touch.

I ride and I usually wave at other motorcyclists and yes, even the crotch rockets. When I wave at them I usually get a single finger salute, but some actually wave back. I am not a bike snob, but I think the bikers are losing that touch as well. as the RUB's (rich urban biker) take over the Harley world, the Esprit de corps is slowly eroding away. The scion community is relatively new compared to the bike world, but could be back on track if more people wave. I do wave as well to other scion owners.

yeah i wave or something as well... as for the return, if it's a younger person they wave if it's a older person they looked at me like i'm nuts lol

I miss waving. My Scion is in the shop. But regardless I wave to all Scions. They look at you funny if your rolling in a camry though.

i usually wave or head nod. and if i see a scion in a parking lot that i'm in, i usually park next to them.

Yep. I do the exact same thing.

I try to always wave to other scion drivers, no matter if it is a xA, xB or tC. I don't always get a wave back.

Here in Florida we wave and about 25% wave back.

Just today I nodded and smiled at a passing xB and she seemed quite happy that I did, she gave a bigger smile back at me...maybe she hasn't received any hellos from other Scions. and yes I park next to other Scions too. Glad to know this list is growing. I don't know, something about being part of a group that's not super widespread, it's like you can show others that you are out there. It's not just to get them to join the Scikotics, I mean heck I was doing that stuff long before I knew about the club. But it's like a sense of comradery I think. :)

And I realized this weekend when I was a a couple hours away from home and not in a Scion, that pointing out or trying to wave to a fellow Scikotic that you don't know, might seem a bit strange to the one you noticed. lol

I can't help but wave. I've tried to stop but I can't; Scions just bring the happy out in me. Lots of times little kids wave as we ride by-- how can you not love that?!

i'm an old air-cooled VW and FIAT freak and we always wave at one another, no matter what model is being driven or what part of the country. so i always wave at other Scions, when i see them, no matter what model they are. as far as getting a wave back, 80-90% of xB'ers wave back. the only xA owners that wave back are the ones that have wheels or other mods and i have never had a single tC driver wave back. don't know why that is.

i'm curious to see how this phenomenon will play out with gen 2 xB's and xD's.

i always throw a wave, stock or modified. I, almost never get a wave back, but, am never discouraged. I ALWAYS WAVE!

I always wave at other Scions. The older group never waves back and about 45% younger group will wave back. All the tC's i see that i wave to are normally some hot chick and she thinks i am hittin on her or something. Ha Ha.
