i don't know if this is a stupid question or not but i just got tinting on my car windows and the back window has a defroster. can you still use the defroster on the back window or will it melt the tint and mess up the tint?

no its not a stupid question. the tint will be fine, and you can use your defroster like normal. it will actually help the window heat a little bit more evenly with the tint on there now! so post up some pics of your tint job!!!

if you want to take a look.
the other question i have is if it's normal to have sort of lines in the tint. Where the defroster lines are, it seems like things shining into the back window kind of makes it streaky. Don't know if i explained it well. I'll try and explain it better later if no one answers.

note that im not a professional regarding window tint. i just had some experience with a few different styles. well it sounds to me that your window is tinted in strips. some window tinters have the knowledge and are comfortable using one sheet of film to cover the back window. others tint the windows and try to mate the film up on the defroster lines. it sounds the in your case the mating up of the film isnt as tight as it should be, allowing light thru. Sorry to hear that. if you are unhappy with it go back and talk with them and see what they can do about it. other options are you can leave it, or find another window titner that tints the rear window with a single sheet. In my opinion that is the only way to go.
