Specs:

06 TC
Tein springs (not sure of S or H springs)
Daily driver

Went to get the tires rotated and the upper strut bolt on the passenger side that attaches to the spindle was loose and partially backed out. I have a feeling it had been like this for sometime because the treads that were backed out were rusty. Tightened it up however, I am sure I have an alignment issue since the insides of the tires are wearing prematurely.

Tell me your thoughts on this:

Go get an alignment and see how much out of spec it is. If it's able to be adjusted within spec great! However if it can't be adjusted back into spec, I think it's going to need a camber kit. I did some searching on here and the web and found the camber bolt replacements for the upper strut bolt for the front but what about the rear? I found a kit that replaced the upper control arm and I'm assuming that's the only thing to fix the rear?

What kits/parts/brands do you guys recommend?

Thanks

it depends on how much its lowered you should be able to tell the difference between h techs and s tech s techs drop it well under 2 inches where as h techs aren't as low. As far as alignment your front camber shouldn't be bad, but the easiest way to tell if your rear camber is off is to just get behind the car get down and see if your tires are slanting inward at the top. If your dropped on s techs more then likely your running around -2 to -2.4 camber in the rear so your gonna need new control arms so you can get within spec. you can find progress hotchkis and eibach all for around 150, all of them are good brands.

You should be able to get pretty close to stock spec alignment with out aftermarket camber links or adjustments...

H tech springs are gold, and S techs are green bro, what color are they? Like was said before, you should be able to tell jus by looking at how aggressive the drop is.

Did you ever align your car after you got the springs on?

Thanks. I have s-techs because the springs are green. I ended up getting a camber kit for the front, new tires and an alignment. The alignment shop said they were able to get it within spec. I'll look at the tires in 6000 when its time for a rotation to see if there is any excess wear.

Is a shorter shock required for the s-techs? Tein's webiste says a stock shock is ok, however the rear inside of the tires were cupped. I have been told a bad shock can cause the tire to hop and produce cupping on the inside of the tire. The shock seems fine, however it does have 80k on the stock shocks, which they might be due for a lil R&R. I was thinking having it out of alignment for a long period of time could cause it too.

Yes I did get it aligned after the tires were put on, which it probably should have been aligned more frequently than it was too.

Thanks
