Hey guys,
New here. I've had my Scion for about 4 years now and haven't really done anything to it at all. I bought it without any accessories cause I'd figured I'd want to do it myself, but I just never really got around to it. But after discovering this forum and seeing all the amazing mods, I think I'm ready to start on mine.

Where do I begin? Is it best to just take it to a dealer and have them install things? Or do I find a body shop somewhere?
I'd really like a moonroof, do they even make them for xA's?

Hey congrats on wanting to mod your xA. I bought mine new in 2006 and waited about a year before I started to mod things. I would say it is best to try and do all the mods yourself or find someone on here to help you. If you take it to the dealer its going to cost a ton for labor, and plus you won't have that satisfaction of doing it yourself.
Another site that will help out a lot is team-ist.net It is a forum all about our cars. The toyota ist- is our car in japan. There are some great DIY section on there for cheap mods.
As for starting off mods list here is what I would do. Depending on your money situation of course.
1. Drop it. Get some lowering springs
2. Tints, be sure to stay legal
3. painting some of your interior parts. Good DIY on team-ist.net
4. interior under seat lighting.. be sure to check out oznium.com for their flexible led strips.
5. Front strut bar
6. cold air intake
That would be a good list of things to do. If you have more money or down the road.
7. New rims and tires
8. Upholster, if you go to trdsparks.com and order their seat covers by clazzio they are a perfect fit and you get both front seats, head rest and back seats for i think $400 shipped in vinly. I just ordered mine, waiting for them to come in because they are hand made and take 8 to 10 weeks.

Congrats man! Hmmm.... I can see you maintain the clean look of your 06' XA. Guess what? I have the same year model and color on mine, so you might want to check my album to see how it looks and what mods I added. Keep in mind I still have to install the lowering springs and struts in it. If you have any questions about it, keep me informed. Cheers!

Thanks guys :)
Spend a couple hours last night looking through tons of posts over at team-ist. Fun stuff!
I'm a filmmaker and often use my car in short films and whatnot (I'm also the one who always opts to drive at my production company, so my car gets completely packed with equipment). Which means some of the things I'd like to do, I can't (ex: tinted windows, speaker system that blocks the hatch area, etc). The interior lighting looks amazing and could actually be extremely useful when shooting short films for me. I wonder if they make those LED strips in white.
I have a much better idea of what I want to do now. The suspension has been a pretty big issue for me (oversteering/torque steering) so that's high on my list and I guess the cold intake improves performance?
I love your seats Tekken. And that monitor looks really nice. But I'm probably going to install an iPod kit and some sort of mount for my iPhone. Right now, I'm using my cigarette lighter to charge my phone and the aux input to listen to music. Cables everywhere, pretty annoying.
Anyway, thanks again guys. You'll probably see me around again sometime soon :)

Glad you are catching the mod bug. :doc:
xA's are super fun to mod. First thing I would do is springs. Dropping the car an inch or so completely changes the look and makes it look much more aggressive. Plus, it is super easy to do.

Glad you take care of your xA!
Personal opinion: resraint. Don't go overboard. Know when to stop. Use your own style.
Simple things like reputable aftermarket wheels (you WILL be sorry if you buy based on cheap price)can change the look of your car. Eibach lowering springs have the longest warranty AND leave the ride of your car still streetable.
