engine coating rims

i didnt see a thread for this, but i was wonderin if anyone engine painted their rims, cuz its gonna be awhile til i get a nice pair of shoes for my car..i just wanted to see if anyone did it and if i can see pics of it..imma do mine just black engine paint, or if theres a another better type of pain im down to try watever

you don't need high temp paint to do your wheels. any paint will work

I agree ... just make sure that you clean the wheels REALLY well and knock down any rough spots with sandpaper.....always remember that your finished paint job will only look as good as the prep you put into it....no matter what you are painting.

and duplicolor makes paint specifically for wheels called wheel paint. i don't think it comes in many colors, or what the different between that and other paints is, but you might look at that stuff too.

thanks, well i said engine paint just cuz i heard that its hella glossier and like people use it when they paint engines for like shows, so i read somewhere that if u use it on the stock rims that it will still give that nice shine so to say...sorry it was confusing lol

Just use gloss paint and then clearcoat over it.

Its a good inexpensive modd...comparitevely speaking to buying a set of new wheels!!! Are you gonna paint the whole wheel or just the spokes?

im gonna be doing this soon... well i would but my dad has a bodyshop so imma take advantage of that and get it done there, just the spokes tho... gonna go over the lip should be cool dude!
