Gauging intreat RS3 grill

So I asked one of my sponsors NIAbodykits if they would be interested in doing an RS3 grill made out of ABS platics and refered him to some postings on other forums to show there is an interest in this grill. I told him I would start a poll here to see if there would be anyone interested in the RS3 grill made out of ABS plastic. Other companies RS3 grills are made from fiberglass, So this would be a great investment into a RS3 grill made from ABS. If the numbers are good I would have him sign up be a scikotics supporter and start a group buy. I will find out more details but for now let me know if any of yall are interested???

Hes trying to get ahold of a RS3 grill now so he can see how the stock mounts are set up so he can see if he can try to replicate the mounting process and get started on a mold all together.

The only snag we are running into is finding a RS3.0 owner in Flordia to go and visit Kevin at NIA so he can take a close look at the RS3.0 grill and see where the clips are. From there he can give me a price and we can get this RS 3.0 grill party started qiuckly.

I have contacted all Flordia chapters advising them of the situation...

If anything, maybe we can have a RS 3.0 owner willing to ship thier grill to him so he can take a look at it and possibly make the mold from it.:bow:

I could use some help in this area. If we all work together we can all make this a reality.

I got to see the grill. It is a little more complicated than i thought.
It can be done but since the tabs, and clips have to be exact and its
located all around the price is going to be real high. Your are looking
at around $400 per grill. Another option is to make it out of fiberglass, we would make the outside part and it would have to be used with an aftermarket mesh.

Maybe there is a way of just doing it with out the tabs but still made out of ABS so they can be double side taped on like racing solutions RS3 grill. The main thing people don't like about racing solutions RS3 grill is the fact that its made from fiberglass. There is some talk about doing a group buy of the grill combo eyelids. What do you think about the grill being made from ABS with no tabs so it can be installed with 3M double sided tape. That and you can make some sales on some eye lids if you go with a combo group buy like some people have mentioned. I think $200 for a eyelid combo grill without tabs would sell decent. let me know what you think?

I would have to agree. 3M used in the right temp will last forever! You just can't apply it if it's less than 40 degrees out, otherwise it won't adhere too well.

saw how it mounted, but i would really need to see how i can mount the

Yeah i know what you mean. alot of people have been doing a JDM style grill from ebay with the RS3 grill over it. But thats with racing solutions fiberglass RS3 grill. I dont know if there is anyone one in miami area.I have posted in there a couple times for this and there has been no responce realy. Your welcome...Im trying to get a quality RS3 grill made for the scion tc community that will be durable. But even if this is $250 to $300 it is still a steal when it comes down to the fact that the RS3 grill would cost alot more if you had someone with an RS3.0 order it for you from the dealership.

hey Kevin took pics of the grill at the car show. As for the trip that is a no go, no time and money to do it or i would. To me I think the outer shell is what everyone is wanting. If he can make that then alot of people would buy it. I guess we will see what we can get going with all this. may need to start a 2nd poll to see who wants the entire grill assy, or just the shell.

I think that if the outer shell was done in ABS. The screw holes could still be used with a washer to hold it in place using an aftermarket backing. If anything, a dremel and some zip ties would do the trick. Some 3M double sided tape or buytl tape wouldnt hurt either...

Well if anyone wants me to i can check to see what deal I can get for the OEM one from my dealership and ship them since i have a RS3. I get a good price on things. I know shipping is like $10-15 depending on location and I'll just have to find boxes that will fit (36x8x8 ).

It should fit any upper grill area on the stock bumper. Just punch out your old one and slap this one in.

To keep costs down and to allow everyone to do what they want to do (whatever that might be) with their grille, I'd say just the shell. I have the Figure Engineering grilles and they will work just fine with this.

Most grilles clip or zip on, so as long as there is enough clearance for the stock grilles to clip on inside or behind this one, it should work I would think.

And the painted one is fiberglass so it'd be easier to crack, but RS also has a carbon fiber one for cheaper than the price that was discussed for this.

I agree with you 100%. I'm actually planning on modifying my RS3.0 grill from RS a bit to make the opening different. We'll see how it goes.

As for the convex side mirror's, I so wanted to get a pair from TweakedIce, but they went under along with the economy. Someone else needs to grab that idea and run with it!
