APEXI Auto Timer (http://www.modacar.com/products//products///AATSale/APEXI+Auto+Timer.html)
The APEXI Auto Timer features a compact interface design (4x 3/4 x 5/8 inches, shown in actual size below) with a separate control unit that can be hidden away underneath the dash.
The APEXI auto Timer is also the first timer with an intergrated air-fuel ratio monitor.
The APEXI auto timer unit reads the O2 sensor signal from the ECU and extrapolates an air-fuel ratio value.
The APEXI Auto Timer can detect the engine load before shutdown and adjusts the idle time accordingly.
Finally, the APEXI Auto Timer has a safety/ security feature that immediately shuts down the engine when the parking brake is released

the reason i posted all the info on the APEX auto timer is because i wanted to get this for my turbo jetta but i ended up tradeing that car in for my scion tC so i still want to buy this Apex auto timer but i do nto have a super charger or a turbo but i might be cooking up plans to add one later on next year if all goes well.
my question is should i buy this now & install it ? i know it will just keep my car running for a few seconds longer then shut off after it is doen warming down also what if i do not buy a super charger or a turbo should i still get this for the car ?
please post info on why i shoul or should not buy this now also this is discounted at modacar right now so thats why i want it the MSRP is around 150$ ;)

only need for it would be is if you are turbo'd if you don't have a turbo then you don't need it. would be pointless for a supercharger as well

explain to me why it would make it pointless because the auto timer makes your car idel for a bit then shuts down right ? so this is pointless for my tC ? when i get done driving i let my car idel for about 20seconds or so then i turn it off this could save me the waiting time right ? dunno if i even need to let my car idel befor i turn it off :) :oopsp:

naturally aspirated. the only point of the turbo timer is to keep the oil flowing for a bit so it doesn't get congealed in the turbo. there is no necessity of that process on a N/A so it would be a waste of money

yea what he said.
Turbo Timers are to prevent Coking. If you do not let the oil cool down before you shut the car off all the time, it will start forming up in around the turbo. Kind of like giving your turbo a heart attack until one day... it has one.

Coking doesn't happen if you use synthetic (Full synthetic)...
I don't use a turbo timer myself, i just granny drive and sit idle for 30 seconds.
Plus - that Apexi's useless in our car... the A/F wouldn't read right - it'd tap off of the narrowband ecu signal.
