Windshield Issues

Hey all.

New to this forum, usually just putsing around on SL.

But has anyone had any problem with stress fractures in the windshield.

I got a 2006 rs4 not too long ago, and I go out to go to work the other morning and boom, a nice foot long crack across the windshield.

Any input would help greatly.

Also, on another note, really digging the Scikotics graphics, where can I get a NJ one?

From what I hear. Our front windshields are very prone to cracking. espescially from rock chips. Ive heard of people on theyre 3rd or 4th replacement.

As far as decals, hit up the Jersy forum. they will help you. :)

I am waiting on a call from the scion corporate people because there is honestly no main point where a rock would have hit.

Any idea if its best to go with aftermarket or the toyota glass?

If it is a stress crack, take it to your dealer. I got a stress crack in my RS4 and the dealer took care of it for me. Had that windshield for about three months, then got a rock. On my third this year (so far)

dude I'm on number 8 on my windshields, all since this last january, soon to be number 9, because its gonna have to come back out, because the molding is ripped and its leaking, and they always get broken when they get pulled out (atleast from my xb) so I get to go another day with no car this week

This is one serious flaw...the only one I think! :hurt:

i had my box about 2 or 3 months. the crack originated under the weather seal.no joke. came out one morning to go somewhere. and wtf. the dealer did nothing about it. at all o well still running the same one only the crack has gotten wider thanks to my subs. lol

do yall have a strut bar in cuz i got one and i have not had a problem and is been 2 years i heard it has to do with the stress so the strut bar helps i guess

Wife called me to tell me there is a long crack running across the bottom of the windshield, i said to her CATCH IT DONT LET IT RUN AWAY, there was a silence for a few seconds :rofl2:
Oh well, ill have to wait until she gets home to see, and guess i will have to take it back to the glass place and drop another 150 dollars.
This will be the 3rd windshield.

there was a lawsuit on this flaw against scion. because mine broke over a year ago and i had to pay outta pocket to get it replace. but at the beginning of this year i got a check in the mail, from scion, reimbursing the money i spent on the windshield replacement.

That lawsuit is now closed. Letters were sent out and you had a specif amount of time to have it fixed.

yep..im on number 6..soon to be number 7. 3 days after new install got hit with 4 chips in one day..now i have one crack..and a 5th chip
