I was wondering if anyone has gotten to play around with the TRD LSD? I am looking into getting on, I am just wondering what kind of preformance gains were seen after purchase.

LSD = limited slip differential ( i take it this is what you are talking about)
for FWD cars LSD is good for 1/4 mile drag racing it will allow botch wheels to grip at the same time & also allow a even burn out.
i did not know that toyota TRD made LSD what modle scion are you buying thisof or thinking about buying it for ?

In automotive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile) applications, a limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differential_%28mechanics%29) gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velocity) of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile), such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torque) transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Off-road), or for high performance vehicles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_performance_vehicle), such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

No power gains, just better traction.

I relize there are no power gains from an LSD its the fact that with my turbo I have a hard time putting all the power to the ground and not spinning the tires threw 3rd gear... i was wonderin if anyone has used it or would recomend another

while an LSD doesn't add power, it definitely helps put more of your power to the ground.
the TRD LSD is right around $1000 plus labor, which I believe is about $550.
With an LSD, you'll have a much stronger launch and a better 60'.
So, even though no power is created with an LSD, it will definitely make your car faster.
and NRGWAR - TRD has an LSD for the tC now - you can buy it at the dealerships - they released it with the 08 tC's

yea the LSD has been around for a while. only just recently was it advertised as a dealer option for the tC and xB2
