I don't necessarily have a problem, just some questions regarding wiring an amplifier / bridging / parallel / serial.
I have an Old School Rockford Fosgate Punch 150a2 2 channel amp that I would like to run my subs ( 2 NOS bottle bazooka tubes 8" 4ohm ) It runs 37.5w per channel at 4ohm load per channel RMS, 75w per channel RMS at 2ohm load per channel, 150w RMS mono at 4ohm load. My dilemma is that if I bridge the amp to mono, how can I run only 2 4ohm subs? If I run them in parallel, won't that bring the total impedience to only 1 ohm? if I run them in series, doesn't that defeat the purpose in bridging the amp? I just don't quite have this wiring stuff down and would like to push the amp a little more than just the stereo 1 speaker per channel. Any suggestions or tips? One thing that I might do is just wire up one of the subs in mono so that I get the full 150w, the other being a show dummy, unless I get a better suggestion.
Hey Trebor, I will be out at the charity laps tomorrow. Did you go to the Scion Guys thing a couple of weeks ago?

First off, no I didn't make it to the Scion Guys thing, haven't been to one of their things since early summer.
As for your wiring......you are correct on how your figuring your wiring, there is no way using what you have to wire both subs to your amp........if you had a pair of 2 or 8 ohm speakers then it could be done........or.......if you can find an Accumatch(AM-1200) or Stinger(SAM-1200) Impedance Matching Transformer on ebay(on ebay bc they arent being produced anymore) and buy it(usually around $20) then you can wire both subs to that amp! Simply wire the two speakers together in series OR parallel then use the tranformer to multiply or divide by two to get your desired impedance, I can tell you how to hook it up. It may take awhile on ebay but they do come up from time to time......happy hunting! See ya at Charity Laps!!!

Keep in mind that those old Punch amps are VERY, VERY, VERY underrated. Hook it up one channel per sub and it will beat the shit outta those Bazooka tubes.
