If you are just looking for a little bit of extra power, Dezod (www.dezod.com (http://www.dezod.com)) is your best bet. They have a proven track record of great products and amazing customer service. I have dealt with them and they are great to do business with. The world motorsports is a really cool setup, but it will definitely cost you and isn't as proven. There are hundreds of people running Dezod kits out there.

It is practically the same kit as they run on their 1000+hp tC. They are also sponsored by Scion. So the not as proven thing is wrong.
Either way both kits are great to go with. Descendant is a much more powerful kit but costs more. Dezod is still the best bang for your buck kit out there.

We here at TRDSparks will stand behind either Dezod or World Motorsports kit. They are both track tested and very well known.
World Motorsports kit is a little more, but you don't have to do any tuning on the "Bolt On & Go" kit. That kit is used in their time attack tC which has set records after records.
The Dezod kit is one of the best bang for you buck kits and also has some great track times on that kit. Let us know here if you have any questions and we can find answers out for you!
Hey Tim PM me when you get the Descendant v2 kit and the new 3inch SS exhaust. I need to get their S-Pipe and Tunerkit, gonna swap out my kit.

This setup is not even close to the same setup they are running on their competition cars. Different turbo sizes, different exhaust piping sizes, different plumbing, different intercooler, etc. This was "based off" their racing experience, but nowhere near the same kit. The setup on their 1,000hp+ drag car isn't even using the same 2AZ-FE engine as the stock tC. It might be a little closer to their time attack tC, but there are still some huge differences that exist.
Being sponsored by Scion has nothing to do with reliability and how the kits run on the street. Scion gives them money to race. Dezod has been building, shipping, and helping to maintain turbo kits on street tC's for years now (since mid-2006 IIRC). While WR has been racing for a while, they have only recently began selling consumer kits so they, in fact, aren't as proven. WR most likely has less than 50 kits that have been running on cars for maybe a year. Dezod has hundreds of kits that have been running on cars for years now and several with over 100k miles on them and very few problems. That is proven to me.
Now, that I say that doesn't mean that I don't like the WR turbo setup. They are beautiful manifolds and I am sure with the racing knowledge the team has, these kits have been engineered to very high specifications. I just know that Dezod has been in the game for a while and is VERY accessable if you have ANY problems and is willing to work with you. I have talked to Paul from Dezod on the phone on a few occasions when he called me to double check my order before I sent it out. I have had nothing but exceptional service through them.
I also wanted to add that another somewhat popular turbo kit choice is PTuning. They have also done a lot of motorsports testing and have a very robust kit. I have met the guys from the shop and they definitely know their stuff when it comes to forced induction.

I think Dezod used to. I would imagine they still do, but I'd shoot a message to Paul to make sure.

We do, however with the current sale price, we can not flex any more.

Their new TA car is 1000+HP... Both TA cars are over 1000 now. I was not talking about their drag car since that isn't even the same motor. Obviously it is a larger I/C and larger turbo but it is the same manifold (now almost 100% identical to their v2 mani) and the same overall design. Of course things need to be larger to make that much more power, this is a miniature version of their TA kit. Being sponsored and backed by Scion has EVERYTHING to do with reliability. You don't hear of any of these other turbo builders getting the attention of Scion do you? Did you also hear of TRDSparks carrying the kit and the fact they are trying to get the kit sold in dealerships? The World-Racing crew runs their setup to race proven quality. Dezod does not even have a race car and has never run on a race car. Justin and Brett are the only ones pushing the kit and they are doing it with modifications just like all kits are run. I like Dezod alot and I recommend people get the kit, but making a claim that one company is not as proven as a company with no race experience is idiotic. I was putting out choices and instead of being a douchbag fanboi. Don't come at me like some prick, I have done the research and so should you before you make baseless claims.
The main companies making kits are:
SoundPerformance -favorite kit, 4500 bucks for the kit with fuel return
Dezod -best bang for your buck kit, 3500 (military discount if you call Paul Edit: nvrmind Paul posted nope on the discount)
Descendant -New V2 kit has some serious power potential, 4250 (?) (Military discount)
PTuning -Very well manufactured kit, lots of regular people have pushed this kit to extremes
Vulcan -Never really heard anything about this one...
Treadstone -OMG NO! Good manifold but ebay parts and no ECU
eBay -CXracing or 'other' parts (known as ChinaCharger kits)
ATP Turbo -Sort of a build your own kit where you buy what you want
Discontinued kits:
Greddy
TurboToyotas (amazing kit lots of custom kits out there search SL classifieds)
Turbonetics -Still Sold but no longer made
ScionSpeed (first Scion kit made)
DZM -Still sold but no longer made
Turbochargers.com
I am sure I missed a few kits but those are the ones I know of off-hand...
/Rant off
Call Rob and call Paul they are both super knowledgable and will tell you everything you could ever want to know about Scion racing.
Descendant: 310-533-8900 -Ask for Rob
Dezod: 716-681-6666 -Ask for Don or Paul (Paul is alot more fun to talk to though)

Calm down dude. No need to go into personal attacks with this thread.
I'm just curious, what kit do you have on your car?
I'm wondering what experiences you have had with your kit running F/I on your car. Regarding doing my research, I have been following turbo kits on Scions very closely since ScionSpeed released the first turbo kit for the tC in 2005. I spent years reading threads in the ScionLife F/I area as well as read several books on turbocharging (for anyone looking for a good read, look at "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell). While Dezod has a great kit, I wanted a smaller turbo and went with a ZPI base and modified it from there with various parts from other companies and my own custom stuff. I raced this car for a few years as well as daily drove it while helping many other people in the area of forced induction. I guess that is why I like helping people and feel that I know what I am talking about.
As far as World Racing selling their kits in dealerships, I hope they do. I know that there have been MANY companies trying to accomplish this same thing, but have been unsuccessful. Emissions is the main reason. The supercharger is allowed because it doesn't modify the post-engine exhaust system. A turbocharger does by design and therefore, violates several states' emissions laws that state nothing can be modified pre-cat.
Again, I would like to reiterate that Scion backing WR has nothing to do with reliability. Scion is sponsoring them as a race team, not their endeavor to produce kits. Rado's car is driven hard for 20 or so minutes, then checked for problems. Sure, they can use this data for R&D, but when it comes to reliability, it has to show on the street. Just look at the Toyota recall. They threw a lot of money at a lot of cars, but that doesn't mean it is a good product. Even though everything is great, a single component (accelerator pedal) can make a company appear unreliable to the general population. People can't really say one way or another if they are reliable or not because there are very few people actually running the WR kit.
You are incorect about Dezod racecars. They sponsor Dan Gardner and there are many other full race cars that are racing with help from Dezod. The people racing with Dezod kits is exponentially larger than those running WR kits including Rado himself. I would be willing to bet that Dezod has done more R&D and testing on their kits in terms of man-hours because of the number of cars they used for development and continue to use for development for their kits. WR only has one main car they do development on and a couple of cars to try stuff out on. Dezod has had several cars from the start and continues to test their new products on them before releasing it to the general public.
The reason why I back Dezod so heavily is that I have had great luck dealing with them. Paul himself even chimed in above in this thread. You don't see WR as in touch with their customers. Dezod is a customer company. They will bend over backwards to make sure their customers are satisfied with their products. WR is a racing team that has a consumer division. Their main goal is racing because that is what Scion pays them for. However, having talked with both Paul (Dezod) and Rob (WR) on the phone numerous times (both are great guys btw), but you can tell Paul is much more "customer oriented".

Turbonetics V1. It's not a very good kit; the turbo is very bad on the Turbonetics kits. I have blown it twice and it has been rebuilt 3 times in total. Also the I/C pipes are a pretty poor design. I have had this car down so many times now, but due to other reasons, not the kit. I have been waiting on the rods I bought for a couple months now so I have not had a chance to build my motor. Pretty much upgrading every chance I have money... I just got the Dezod return system last week; Most of my parts are Dezod btw. I forgot about the ZPI kit in my earlier post too.

That's the problem they have been having. They were trying for years to get CARB certified but couldn't... Maybe if they get the APR computer they could. As far as I have read they got a semi-sponsorship from Scion to make that kit they sell. Toyota has abandoned all turbocharged cars in their lineup. Once they did that they pretty much stopped trying for CARB. Anything past that all I have is speculation since Rob dosn't seem to be speaking any further on the subject, but I wouldn't put it past them if this V2 kit was their final push to get back into Toyota's sights.

The Gardner car isn't running the S1 kit or even the Alpha kit. It is more of a retail sales partnership. Dezod is and always will be the best in customer relations (my opinion, there are several who hate them for past problems.) Paul is a great guy and if you get the chance to talk to him you will agree. Like I have said before their kit is the 'Best bang for your buck' kit out there, which has helped them being a (if not the) top tC kit in sales. I still would put money on Descendant putting more R&D into their kit than Dezod since Scion is all they do... Also they are a manufacturer and don't really have to worry as much about being on the retail side of things. Granted the V2 kit is a new iteration and has only been put in a very limited amount of cars. Dezod has also been through it's fair share of changes on their kit though.
This thread has been jacked enough. My final post in here.
Chose what you like best. I would recommend calling Rob or Paul and talking to them... Ask Paul about the Ptuning kit too, if you happen to make the mistake of calling Ptuning you will get to hear them bash every company who has ever made a turbo.
