had my xB since november, and i haven't even de badged it yet. I'm thinking of doing it this weekend, just a couple of q's:
1. is it ok to use goo gone or something like that to get the adhesive off? that's my main worry about this, is getting it to look clean
2. will there be a difference with the paint- i.e. will it look darker where the "scion" and "xb" are?
that's about it....any help is appreciated

Yes Goo Gone works perfect.
And you will probably need to wax the area under the emblem and it will look just like the rest.

Hair dryer and use something really thin to slide under it. I used a metal pancake turner with a piece of cloth covering it. If you let it sit in the sun and then add the hair dryer to it, you should have no problem.

yeah...i heard using floss works wonders with this. I told my buddy about this, and he's all about debadging his 2005 Subaru Legacy now...
on another mod note- how is the scion cargo cover? I've been looking at it more and more, and i'm wondering if maybe i should pick it up. I really do like the "clean" look it gives the cabin.
The final thing i'm planning for this weekend is getting some better floormats. I picked up some cheapass 20$ ones when I first got my box, but I really want something thick and industrial, that won't bunch up under the pedals when I drive. Ah well, I'm hitting the stores tomorrow to see.

I have the Scion cargo cover, used it quite a bit til i went with the custom interior. Now it just gathers dust in my garage.

what you should do is use a very small amount of rubbing compound after you take the letters off...

Removed the xb badge left the Scion badge, in my case the color was no different the the rest of the hatch. But I agree, apply something on it after removing it. Wax will be cool.

Fishing line works the best, floss breaks very easily
and its not like they're very old cars, there shouldnt be any difference in the paint behind the emblem unless you leave the car in a tanning bed 24/7/365
