I am getting my entire Tc Upholstered this summer from the floor up. Plastic trim included. I am digging some of the concepts you guys have going. Anyone have any suggestions. I have already got some carbon fiber stuff to go with the interior. I have a black sand pearl 07 tc. So far I have a Sparco Litium P shifter, Sparco Carbon Pedals, Momo Carbon Ebrake. And two carbon Shift boots (Ebrake and Shifter). Also, I am going with Katzkins for the seats. As for color scheme I am open to options but so far I am either thinking a maroon and off grey scheme or a carbon black and carbon silver scheme. For those of you who have carbon interior such as headliners and such. Is that fabric or what? If not let me know how I may be able to get ahold of that. Thanks guys.

Hey DJ, I'd like to do the same thing. I want to do my interior with this scheme:

See how on the side of the dash left of the steering wheel is upholstered? I'd like to do something like that but wondering how.

Thanks!!! I have it all planned out in my head, I just need to figure out how to do it. Would really clean up the interior nicely.

I have a general idea of how you can upholster the dash like that. In my head I am thinking it would be like re-upholstering your headliner. I found this great link to the Club Lexus Forum (so you know it's good quality DIY work). I am keeping the link for myself and making this my summer project. Maybe... haha

Lol for sure. Mili has to go up there and get something from Candice, I mightest well get something out of it too. Just say the word and I'm down. I was gonna pitch the idea to Mili and tell her that this summer is all about the cars. I want to fiddle around with her car

I might just be talkin out my ass here, but don't over do it with the carbon look. to much is over kill and can kill an interior. Carbon on the plastic is cool, i.e. shift knob e-brake, a pillars, center console, and the dash, but I think that going with a carbon Fabric would be WAY to much..

hmmm... i wonder if mili will let me use her car as a guinea pig... how did you pop the top off of the center counsel to get the fabric wrapped around it??

Sounds like something that would be a nice little mod to do on a summer day. You could come up here to Bako and we could all do it from like morning to dusk and it'll be done, lol.

i like the way you think. i am trying to pitch the idea with the chapter to get a mod day going where we all just work on each others cars. i think it would be fun

Aurora

I think it would be. We had a mod party before and it was actually really fun! People get a hand with their mods from others!

After seeing the new tC, I got an itch to redo the driver and passenger door panels. Wonder if there's any at a junkyard for like $20 each or something.

what are you planning on doing??

Aurora

That all depends on what's possible. I'd like to pretty much redesign the door panel all together! Everything south of that top border piece.

Don't I always! lol

Constantly reinventing my ride. Naw, there's just the illuminated garnish, RS3 front grill, license plate relocated, new turn signal design for side sections in the front bumper, interior upholstery, the bentley style 3rd brake light, reverse light in the OEM 3rd brake light....and an air freshener.

See, not a lot at all. :)

You know, I think so too. It's so hard to get that new car smell again.

So, back to upholstery.

Scionxtc
04-12-2010, 01:00 AM
are you still going with your original idea of putting fabric material on the dash area like on that concept bmw picture??

Aurora
04-13-2010, 12:00 AM
Well, the dash is going to stay as is, it's everything south of it. If you follow the dash and the upper parts of the door panels (front and rear panels), you'll see they keep all the same groove pattern, texture, etc. That all will stay stock. It's everything south of that that will be fabriced.

Although..that could change if I came across something that would work. Does anyone know or have a relative that does upholstery?

Scionxtc
04-13-2010, 12:38 AM
no relatives, but i got a friend of a friend with a shop that does really nice work
