That would have to be done at the dealer ( best way) or find someone who is real good at matching color. Then you would need a paint gun and stuff to do it.

you can look around for a spray paint that matches closely

Carpet matching the Curtains?
What color is it? I might just take some Krylon paint and spray down that stuff..

What Tim didn't mention is his girls car is an RS3. The green is going to be hard to match with spray paint.

yeah sorry. we went to a couple of paint places and they couldn't give us a strait price. one place was gonna charge us like $110 for a pint and another 200 just to paint it. i was just wondering if anyone has done it any cheaper

You can get them online at a few places with the paint code too.
Here's one I found form doing a quick google search "custom spray paint": http://www.towerpaint.com/customcans.html

If you do it yourself take your time. I did the door panels and the entire dash. Looks awsome except on the dash where I rushed it. Now I have one freakin spot that I can't seem to fix. :x: :censored: :x:

Here is what i suggest and what i did
1. sand with 220 to get all the big groves out
2. sand with 440
3. primer two coats
4. let dry
5. sand with 600
6. one color coat
7. wetsand with 1000
8. two color coats
9. wetsand with 1500
10. repeat 8-9 3 times
11. DON'T WETSAND AFTER LAST COLOR COAT
12. clearcoat 5 or so coats.
let dry overnight.
If your looking for paint use kylon fusion. it sticks to plastic and doesn't chip. Quality stuff

I THINK THIS IS THE BEST WAY IF YOUR GOING TO DO IT YOURSELF.BUT I WOULD GO TO A PIANT SHOP AND HAVE THEM PULL THE CODE FOR THE PIANT AND HAVE THEM PUT IT IN A RADLE CAN.BUT ONCE YOUR ARE DONE PIANTING IT WITH THE PIANT TRY TO FIND A GOOD FRIEND WITH A SPRAY GUN AND BUY SOME ACUALL CLEAR COAT AND IT WILL COME OUT LIKE GLASS AND WILL NOT CHIP.BUT FROM EXPIERIENCE I WOULD PAY THE MONEY AND JUST HAVE A SHOP PIANT YOUR TRIM PIECES FOR YOU THAT WAY IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG IT'S ON THEM OTHERWISE YOU'LL BE PAYING OUT THE ASS FOR NEW TRIM PIECES AT THE DEALERSHIP.

it will cost like 300 bucks to have it professionaly done. I would just rather do it myself. The trim pieces are small enough that you can just paint it using spray paint if you take your time. Just do that. Its much cheaper and more satisfying.

david , who did your painting? been thinking of doing mine.
also just made a new customer who happens to own a carbon fiber business. thinking having the dash pieces made from white carbon fiber with a red dye mixed in the resin.
then having some custom knobs for the a/c cut out in the CNC mill and haveing them anodized with red cad plating.

Why did you choose to paint the outer part of the bezel instead of the iner black part ? Just curious ?

im a little late this has been posted for a while and you got some good advise . ive painted cars before and dashes, plastics all that and in my opinion the best way to it (if you want to diy it )is to skuff the shit out of it with a 3m scotchbrite pads they make different grades so start out with lower grit and work your why up to finer grit this is the key to makeing it stick to plastic the paint grabs the fine scatches. prime first then wetsand with 2000 paper and use a flex agent(the stuff the pros use on bumper covers and body kits) in the primer and paint. base coat and clear coat a number of times sand each layer and it will look awsome .. dont use spray paint it will chip and its hard to match.. .and doin this way if mess up you can always strip it and do it over again.
