Ok, so I'm wanting to put an exhaust system on my car, and because I don't want to spend $300 for the TRD axle back, I'm going to piece together a system from the front (header) to the back, and I want to go with duals.

Questions are.....

What brands do you recomend? I don't want super duper loud
What is the piping size?
Should I do duals or just one?
What brand header (tC) is best?
What's a good high flow cat or should I stick with the stocker?

Thanks,
Cory

Dang!!! :wallb: I never realized that mufflers cost just as much as the axle back exhaust!!! Might be canceling these plans, :(

yeah its expensive you could do a custom built catback for fairly inexpensive but you would still be looking at around 300 dollars

Everything I'm finding muffler wise is like $200 per muffler. I'm wainting 2 of them :( plus the header, another $150-$200, that's $600 not installed. :wallb:

theres no need for two mufflers only one with dual outs our cars even with headers only have one pipe for input on a muffler not two you would be looking at something like this

of course depending on style it might look diffrent but inlet outlet would be same so one in duals out the back and you can select tip styles like such http://tahoepimp.fileave.com/tips.jpg

or you would make custom bent pipe that splits off to two fart cans like these

this is where you would get more expensive but still would be around 300 or so if they charge you more than 100 dollars to bend pipe you might want to try another shop

Yeah, I was gonna split the pipe to 2 mufflers with tips. I didn't even think about running 1 muffler with just the tips to be honest.

I was looking at my wifes tC the other day about that. I'd have to pull some measurements, but just from looking at them, it looks as if the tC header will bolt right up in the xB.

i pulled everything off from front to rear&stuck back just in case. i have the weaponR4-2-1 header&s-pipe,header collector&s-pipe are 2 1/2in. 16in.x6in.stainless magnaflow muffler w/ 2 1/4 in. inlet&outlet, scuba delete, into a borla dual rear section, sound is deep&throaty especialy if you get on it hard ,but i run the sterio at about 40 any way, hard of hearing 10 yrs. of helicopter turbines & 3yrs, in field artillery will do that! sound sooo good & verry free flowing! drive it like you stole it!

i was actually thinking about getting the dual exhaust from the trd site.... but i wasnt sure how it would sound compared to the trd and if it would be difficult or not to put on...
