Wow, that actually isn't too bad of a price.

yea if only they shaved the nipples off and put the regular turn signal reflector back in, what were they thinking with that ebay gunbarrel look

whos gonna be the first to buy these and cut the projector out and put it in the original headlights/

If I had throw away money, I'd definitely give it a try.

i'd buy them then put the front cover from my existing headlights on them.

but i'm doing a retrofit for cheaper than that so i'll keep with my retrofit

The 08 headlights can't take HID bulbs anyway - the bulbs are too long.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. I haven't tested it out in person.

Just don't like the nipple on it

I heard a theroy about the infamous "nipple" someone told me it might be do to the heat from the projector, so hence moving that paticular part outward!!!! REMEMBER dont shoot the messenger!!!!!!! I dont know to much abot headlights nor projectors, so AGAIN DON SHOOT THE MESSANGER!!!!

those arent even projectors in the new headlamps anyways they are just regular halogen bulbs. and the heat coming off of them after the lens should be less then regular reflector headlamps at the normal point.

and the projector is push way out toward the front of the car compared to where the bulb socket is when looked at next to the pre-2008 headlamps

They're halogen projectors anyway - they won't work like you think they will with HID's - you're not gonna get that cool prism effect.

I really like those headlights - they're very sexy and so much better looking than the garbage they sell on ebay. If I had $400 to spend, I'd consider it...assuming I already have my intercooler, wideband o2, injectors, and new clutch, and flywheel, and new rubber, and maybe some rims...yeah - it'd probably be one of the last things I did, but I'd honestly consider it.

Not sure about the prism effect, but the OEM 08 headlights will take HID bulbs. And the cut-off angle is pretty clean too!

Nebster

I know.... i've been told that the bulbs won't fit though because they're too long... I guess I just have to try myself :p

i thought that that info was a little odd but damn if it wasnt a funny thing to hear.

and i would know what to begin to do with retrofitting the pre-08 headlamps, i'd love to have some one day, the 08 headlamps are not at all my tastes

One of the NorCal members has it installed. He said there's very little room behind the bulb and (i think) the battery, making installation even more PITA than usual. If you stick in the HIDs when you're installing the new headlights it won't be a problem.
As for the 'humps' you'll see that it would not have been possible to have the projectors w/o humps because the corner of the projector unit will not clear the 07 & under headlight housing. The cutoff is pretty nice, but it did seem that they aren't as bright as a TSX projector at the edges. For a lazy person like me w/o retrofit skills it will work great for the price!

i know what your talking about with the hump but from what i also saw they moved it up so much that they had to nipple them up, if they wouldn't have gone lazy it wouldnt have been needed, like how the retros are setup.
