Okay I installed a perrin adjustable short shifter a while back. and the throw is about 15% shorter and it wont go any shorter. Someone please help me figure out the problem cuz 15%, atleast to me, isnt worth it

you should have had included some bushings to go underneath the cage to higher it...so the shifting is less....i might have some extra ones i can send u...it should shorten ur shift some more....

The bushings don't do anything for the throw. They just raise the cage (like you said) to put the shifter in a more comfortable position.

How are you measuring the throw of the shifter? That could make a difference in the percieved throw distance. I am not very familiar with the adjustable short shifter. I just went with the cheap Megan SS and love it.

I need atleast two more bushigs to get a little more clearance. I have two bolted on each of the back part of the cage and one on each part of the front. Thats just how it came.

the bushings wont shorten your throws at all thats in the shifter level.

The bushings raise the cage to add clearance so the shifter can be made shorter.

Here's a question. I bought a Megan Short Shifter from www.wesellcarparts.com. It did NOT come with instructions so I used a walk through I found online. I didn't install the rubber spacers because it wasn't in the walk through. The car shifts fine, the throw is definitely shortened without the boots... but I was wondering... are there any issues that could come up with the transmission if I don't use those rubber boots? Are they Required?

There shouldn't be any issues, but the shifter sits more flush in the cage and boot with them in.
