I have been looking into getting a oil cooler for my tc. This of course due to the fact that i blew the engine up and feel the oil getting to hot may have played a role in the chain reaction of catastropic proportions. I have looked around but have not found much. Everything so far just says it is a good idea but no one that has tried it yet. Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks an hope all is well.

I have seen a couple for sale but never actually seen one installed. What do you have done that caused so much heat? Boost?

I have not boosted it but have thought about it. All i have installed so far for the engine is a cold air intake, header and s-pipe, cat back exhaust, light weight crank pulley and fly wheel, and a stage 2 racing clutch. I don't feel like i have done anything to cause it to over heat that much but, the only reason i can think of that would cause the rod bearing to over heat is if the oil was too hot and didn't cool it enough. With the oil cooler i would also like to get an oil temp and oil pressure gauge so i can monitor where it is at. What i do know though is that when the rod bearing overheated it caused catastrophic problems and destroyed the valves and head along with the block.
