I've been working on this insane project on and off for four months now. I think I'm about out of the woods on safety issues :lalala: Almost ready for the final install.

Take a look:

Yeah kinda. Home made kit. Never found a reasonably priced stand alone kit. They all use the cars ignition, and I didn't want to mess with the cars wiring.

First time I've seen that on an xB. What are your fuel and ignition sources?

Who will be the first one to light a cigarette off of it?

DriverLost

My life revolves around getting reactions from people, good, bad, funny, what ever. This mod has been worth it just for these. lol

Wait until you see it in person. Hopefully this weekend in Iowa. So who still smokes? It's a kick ass lighter. :mrg:

Far as the diy goes, it may be awhile there. But I'll try when I have all the kinks out. Right now it only works with the engine not running. I must be missing something in the whole fuel/oxygen/spark theory, because I'm baffled why it won't work at idle.

The 20 foot plus flame throwers use gasoline. I refuse to go there. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91/Scion4Rob/Other%20Rides%20and%20stuff/flame.gif

I have some ideas, but the bad thing is it fried my remote to my under body lights. My spark box caused some crazy electrical field. I hope building a metal box for the coil will fix that from happening again.

I had them on my 56 Pontiac but they sucked, never quite worked right.
I don't have the ingenuity that Rob has.

I'd love to do it in a dual setup hooked into my alarm, can you say crispy car theif?

DriverLost
08-01-2007, 11:09 PM
Thanks for the love. I use to get wood when I was a lad and watched the batmobile do its fire.

Yeah I looked into the old school flamethrowers. They don't work with FI or any system with a cat.

I set this up for off road use only. not by choice. I was looking forward to taking care of tail gaters  Just won't work with the box running for some reason.

But this way I can park it and shoot fire from a distance via remote. lol

Rob the exhaust produces Carbon Monoxide. It gotta be the lack of oxygen when the engine is running. Try moving the ignitor amd spray nozzle farther out.

CRAZY!!!!... I'd like to see a tail gater get hit by that.... maybe install a camera to take pictures of people when they tailgate you would be great for getting reaction pictures....LOL

My rear view camera. Just need to tie it into something that records. :ponder:

I put the gas dump right on top of the spark area of the spark plug, about three inches deep in the tip. Any farther out, and it would look cheezy.

I guess I could just shut the car off and fry a front end once in a while lol.
