Was cruising over forums somewhere a few days ago and I discovered this...

What is a grounding kit? What does it do? How hard is it to install? Is there a benefit to it? etc

A grounding kit is used to replace your factory power and grounding wires with higher gauged wires. The stock wire I believe is 8 gauge and this is the wire that connects the alternator and the battery as well as the battery to the ground. It is grounded twice from the negative terminal of the battery. Once to the vehicle and once to the engine chasis. The benefit to getting a grounding kit is that it increases the efficiency of electrical flow from the alternator and allows everything electrical to run smoother. It is a huge benefit to those of us running systems. It virtually eliminates the need for a capacitor and it eliminates strain on your alternator as well as eliminates electrical problems like headlight dimming for example. If you think that this is beneficial to you, you could probably just make your own. I did it. Most grounding kits are either 4 or 2 gauge kits. I did mine at 0 gauge for less than it would have cost me for a grounding kit. I hope that this has helped.

Can someone with little knowledge of an engine do this <_<'?

You don't need much knowledge to do this. As long as you can follow the wires from the battery terminals to the bolt on the alternator and to the two ground locations then yes. The only think that needs to be removed is the battery and the battery tray.
