I washed the tC today and I have such hard water that it leaves those stains on the paint and the glass. I use that Mr. Clean car wash system with the water filter built in and it works really well but there are still a few stains.
Anyone have a good solution to getting rid of those hard water stains?

clay bar/wax, or buff/wax clay bar will take out some stuff, buffing takes out everything, it depends on what you wanna do, if your going to a show, invest and take your car to a paint shop, spend a little cash and have them give it a full buff job, unless you know someone that can buff, because buffing isn't the safest thing to do with paint if you don't know what your doing
but a claybar will get the waterspots off, then use a good quality wax like a carnuba wax

ok here's a big secret. get very fine steel wool and lightly rub it on your windows. i know it sounds crazy but i'm tellin you its a car shop secret. dont use it on the body though. wax is best for that.

Are you hand drying the car after washing it?

You don't have to with the auto dry system.
What I would do if I were you(this is what I do), is get the Mr. Clean autodry and only use it for the filter. Wash your car with better car wash(Meguair's NXT is pretty good for the money) then after you are done, rinse it off with the auto drying water.
To get out those spots you are talking about, pick up some Meguiar's polish and some pads and cloths and have at it

My little trick is a $10.00 Wall-Mart 1 gallon spray bottle that I fill with distiled water.
Keep the car wet while you wash it, even if it means stopping with the sponge to grab the hose again.
When you're finished. Grab you're spray bottle full of distiled water, and do a final rinse. The mineral deposits get diluted and have a harder time sticking to the paint and glass.
I still try to shammy the water off in the shade when time allows.
I love the Auto dry system, just too pricey to keep filters replaced for me.

So spraying distilled water is pretty much using the autodry filter?

The Auto Dry is basically just spot-free water. I'd still hand dry it.
If it's spots just after a wash (not etched in), then re-washing and drying should get them off. If they've been etched in, you can try the clay bar and polishing compound, but I've got some spots on my hood that will not come out even after both.

Anything to help absorb the minerals. The Auto dry is a filter that removes the minerals in the incoming water. If you have real hard water like I do, you'll go through a ton of the filters.
Distilled water is basically the same thing. But I always try to wipe the car down last also.

You must use a lubricant when doing this like Mothers quick detailer...not dry! Also another little know item to remove spots from windows is Bon Ami known as the bar keeps best friend. You can get it at Wal Mart or Publix. Make a paste out of it and rub it in over the spots until they are gone. Rinse with lots of water and dry. Apply rain x or glass wax. I use Dry Wash-n-gaurd an online product only to prevent future spotting.
